Lol You're not greedy for wanting to use a library computer The faulty assesment (generalisation) that no person in your country enters politics for the right reason is an indication. The remark that your society as a whole/the average citizen in it deserves corruption, mass murderers etc. is another.
Greed just means you want everybody to get everything on a silver platter. Nature doesnt work like that.
Yes it is in a corrupt fashion which actually means it isn't. Unless you believe in the OS concept in which case we're only doing it this way because it's human nature.
Yeah, the United States is such a terrible place to live. Greatest country on Earth, but we need to change everything about it.
Well, societies and the level of corruption they are subject to are often very different around the world. Taking notice of that made it apparent to me I am fortunate living in the dutch society, and the majority of americans are not much worse off with theirs.
The United States is so terrible that you can go to a public library and use the computer to complain about it.
I didn't imply they all do. I was referring to the idea that quite a few are corrupt & hypocritical. We live in that sort of society because we've allowed those ideals to gain too much steam. We ACCEPT them as the norm which doesn't absolve us of the problems they create. Therefore we have earned those problems. Greed means you want everything on a silver platter. No one gives a damn whether the guy sitting next to him gets it too. Or if they do it's because helping him means helping themselves too
There is much room for improvement where it comes to democracy in the USA. I agree (and many americans as well! ) But that's only one facet of society. If you look at all facets like for example rights or education or technological advancements etc. you probably get a diff picture
I'm surprised you're on board with libraries at all. Taking tax money to use for something that benefits the greater good is a pretty left wing concept
We put a price on education when knowledge should be freely shared. We quibble over scraps like skin, whether gays should be given equal rights, if women deserve the same etc, instead of dealing with the deeper more painful issues that create such quibbles. We can't even use the sum of our technological advances for improvement. Why should we keep going further in that field now? The corn all around is dead best find a more suitable spot to grow a less sickly harvest. So no I don't see a different picture.
Optimism in the face of eventual disaster is foolish. Once you find a way to avert said disaster, then is a fine time for optimism.
The same core issues cause the same basic problems around the world. They may look a lil different when they spring up but they're still born from the same mother
