A very reputable person (that has always had his facts 100% accurate) posted the following on FB, which I copied/pasted... (and the link on the last page about people needing help or who to call, etc) didn't work...when I clicked on it, it said content not available...but I wouldn't have known what it said anyway if its in Spanish) "100% of #PuertoRico is without power. The Emergency Management Antenna and the NOAA NWS National Hurricane Center have collapsed. Some cell towers have fallen and many radio stations are off the air. If anyone knows of any person who needs help, please call (787) 777-0940 WIPR radio; they are receiving emergency calls. "
PR informa 1 hr ยท BAD NEWS: The island of PR will be under flash-flood watch/warning throughout the weekend. The NWS lost it's DOPPLER radar, so they rely on satellite imagery only. The Military is worried about the weakened state of communications and the impact the rain could have on it, they are also working on getting a mobile doppler radar.
There are farms all over the island of PR ,, Chickens are producing eggs, cows milk, goats and other farms - vegetation that survived storm while fruiting is producing. They are already reclaiming ..
My brother bought his mother in law a ticket to fly out of Puerto Rico this coming Tuesday. He told me she's a bit of a prepper so she had a ton of non perishable food and bottled water saved but because she has been sharing with her neighbors she is running low now. It has to be hard to leave not knowing when you'll come back Hopefully the island will settle into a new normal soon so they can focus on rebuilding rather than just surviving
I have a friend in Puerto Rico, she went 'off-line' for a number of days - happily she; along with her family- got away safely and returned to a devastated home 'First-hand' reports:- There are still problems with telecom signals for any phone providers except one. She was able; using a friend get her message out. FEMA are on-site but there are issues in the distribution of aid. Her house although structurally okay(bar minor damage) is without power and devastation all around - trees, pylons etc. pulled up and strewn all around - and lots of flooding. She has enough food and gas - for now, but life right now is Challenging As one sits safe at home its hard to appreciate what others have to live with and through - "It's a dangerous World out there"
Photo OP or not, I would imagine she's really busy being in the thick of a humanitarian disaster to criticize Trump just for the sake of it, I'm sure she has legitimate complaints and maybe he should listen to her instead of going after her on his bully pulpit
78 municipalities, only one we hear about being deplorable is Carmen. Here a video from the Washington Post .. Look all the supplies in the background, no movement or sounds of a warehouse. And shes talking some shit people drinking from a creek. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2017/09/30/trump-called-san-juans-mayor-a-weak-leader-heres-what-her-leadership-looks-like/?utm_term=.c98e54cc6caf
That article put her in a pretty good light actually, I didnt watch the video but I assume the supplies arent moving because she doesn't have the resources at her disposal to get them moving, hence her criticism of Trump admin's response, at this point the military should be there moving supplies
Have you not heard that there is a 3 star general there, in charge of everything? https://www.defense.gov/News/Article/Article/1330284/military-in-puerto-rico-will-stay-until-all-needs-are-met-dod-liaison-says/
That's good, I was just responding to the accusation that this mayor isnt distibuting supplies..I just assume Puerto Rico doesnt have the resources to do it without the help of the military
If you want to see some happy people, watch this. People are celebrating in the streets because their electricity was restored. https://www.************/prinforma/videos/1716830645034992/
