I’ve been following the storm as well, and you’re right, so far the storm has been paralleling the coast but once it makes landfall they’ll experience extreme hurricane conditions.

My first encounter with a Hurricane was back in 1985 with Hurricane Gloria which wreaked havoc throughout central and southern new England. I still have vivid memories of the power outage which lasted several days and the constant sound of chainsaws with trees down everywhere

I think that now the meteorologists are expecting it to become a category 5 storm. I've been kind of keeping an 'eye' :)D) on this one too; I've got family that live in Florida.

I hope it doesn't disrupt the NASCAR race in Charlotte. That'll piss me off for sure.

No Sympathy For The Potential Thousands Of People Who May Lose All Of Their Posessions And Maybe Their Lifes............

Irm, Your Posts Are Getting So Shallow I'm Surprised Even You Can Attempt To Swim In Them..... :)

I know people that are keeping their eyes GLUED to the weather.

I'm looking out the window from time to time. :)

I also know people in FLA and no jokes - hope to God they are and will be alright.

I have absolutely nothing to back up this thought; but, I don't think SC will feel anything but rain...except maybe Charleston, Myrtle Beach and Sanibel Island and maybe Folly Island. They'll probably get the rain more/harder. The governor has already ordered an evacuation from those areas (I think its those areas anyway). I do know that I've seen a form - its all over fb that basically you are having to/the governor wants you to sign if you refuse to evacuate those designated areas.

I know a couple of people there too...they'll get their asses out I know because there is a child in the mix, and they have money and sense. lol

That is a freakin wicked hurricane face that is showing in gray, black and red.

    I've got insomnia STRONG tonight.

Ain't it just great that I'm not the type to bend to outside pressure and thinking about "what would people say!?" in regarding to keeping house...so I'm not all bogged down with thinking I need to be cleaning up, when I'd MUCH rather "spend" (waste) time online deciding what I think about the hurricane, wondering how I lost a good flashlight again. I lose this particular flashlight what seems like a dang lot but I LOVE it so I find myself thinking about it all the time if I've lost it.

Its somewhere in this very room - or the one beside here, I know.

I even got out a pendulum. [IMG]

    I need help.

A valium (or 2) would do.

    :)

If it wasn't 6am I'd have a screwdriver...that's vodka and Orange juice. Which I have them both. But I have WAY to much to do today to even consider such silliness as that.

    lol

I helped "my girl" fill out a child support paper yesterday, and I mailed it.

That was both more and less entailed that I would have thought.

I filled it out, as her...

at one point, that form was so ridiculous in its questions and multiple choice answers I wrote (and this is a quote.)

This is Silly. etc etc etc

My girl just hung her head and kind of chuckled. Shit...it'll go through and they can just put that in her record. Honestly...it was silly. The entire form needs to be re-done and amended. I didn't explained all of that (yet hehe). But I did say...(a quote from her form)

This is Silly. The facts are: ............................................................... You are not giving the choice for these facts to be picked.

I don't know what or how to check this to your satisfaction. But those are the facts, and they be easily proven.

I liked filling out that form.

It will all get started. I'm glad to say (cross my fingers) I've always been successful at helping friends (or whoever) fill out papers to the government's satisfaction...to get 'r dun :)

I've been watching the storm closely as i have family and friends all over coastal SC. And a friend in Florda too, right below the Georgia line. They'll probably get it pretty bad there.

The big worry for SC is flooding. And if the storm path deviates the slightest bit to the west the eye will make landfall on the Carolina coast.

Hurricanes are really awesome weather events aside from the human impact though. I am worried about my family and friends but also get a thrill from watching this amazing force of nature.

We left Florida the year hurricanes crossed the state in both directions, making a huge X across the state. An omen to be sure. Back then you knew it was bad if they had to shut down Disney.

We don't get much panic over weather in Atlanta. A tornado is a crap shoot with no obvious path to predict. However, they usually don't get far into the heat dome.

What's hilarious though is to watch Georgians flock to the stores and buy out the milk and bread, over a FEW flakes of snow. To them I say "come to Schenectady" (JFK voice).

    This.

I'm really upset at the NASCAR heirachy though. I mean everyone knows we don't race in the rain so why the fuck is Charlotte on the agenda at this time of year when this ALWAYS happens? And guess what? Rain halts on track activities! Motherfuckers!! :D

Like those twits that spend a million dollars or more on a house in a "natural Bush setting" up in the Blue mountains, then cry every 5 years when fire rips through the place. And they'll be on the news "oh it was so random, fire took some houses, left other alone"

No it wasn't frickin random, you put all your life savings into a house surrounded by dry combustible material d'uh

Meanwhile the rest of us get to pay for their one with nature BS in higher insurance costs
