I was very suprised and saddened to hear the news. I think he is a wonderful writer and journalist. Fear and Loathing is a classic.

He will be kept alive by his writings. He has left his legacy. We can be grateful for that.

But like KC said, I bet he is out there somewhere laughing his ass off. The greatest mind trip of all time just may be death. And HST sure loved the edge.

I hope he wrote something in his house before he shot himself. some sort of signing off.

its a fitting end if you think about it
    cliche
    but fitting

i'm know in general his health was on a decline, maybe he was terminally ill....it just seems as though he would want control over death, not one who would wait around for it and slowly let his condition worsen him. a matter of pride.
so why not shoot yourself.... its going out in a bigger way, and i'm sure he'd love the glory it would bring

    man i cant believe it
he was really important to me....i just cant believe he's dead.

I just saw Fox News. They said Hunter was in a wheel chair and that he'd been sick and depressed. He spent the last few months getting his affairs in order before he took his life.

They also said he started every day with a shot of whiskey and cocaine.

perhaps it wasnt so much because of sorrow...hunter's the kind of guy i could see pulling the trigger to simply take that last trip...to meet his maker. perhaps he just felt like he had ridden his wave, and now as an old man its time to move on.
