We should all go vegitarian i agree... so how do we lobby effectively to get the lilly livered mp's to stop being half hearted about their bills?:p

Anti-Hunt is step one, Anti- all animal murders is the next step we should be working on.

I agree with you here (blloody hell  ) Yeah I think many mainstream politicians are scared of losing minority votes if they don't address the issue. Another reason why not to trust politicians.

So you're saying that we should ban ritual slaughter as well as hunting? Sounds good to me! Glad we've converted you :)

No I am not saying we should ban hunting per se. I was saying that we should ban all forms of animal abuse if we can! The trouble with the proposed fox hunting ban is that it is proving too controversial and is stirring up so much trouble than we need to re-consider something like a compromise such as licencing hunts where the cruelest hunt practices such as digging out foxes from earths are banned and where hunting is more restricted. But a complete ban is probably unworkable as many in the hunt community have vowed to disobey it.

Oh, I see. So the bullshit about ritual slaughter was actually just a smokescreen to detract from the real issue?

Ummm..... like the war in Iraq? Maybe we should stop that too?

What a load of shite. It'd be foolish to back down from a moral cause simply because it was "stirring up trouble". Maybe the black people in America should've looked for a compromise rather than fighting for the right to vote.

LMFAO!!!! Back to the same old shite, huh? Are you insane? Since when should we allow laws to be dicated by the threats of a minority? You think the police can manage to bring the mine workers to their knees, but they can't handle a few disgruntled toffs? You're an apologist for a barbaric sport looking for excuses to allow it to continue. It's pathetic.

The war in Iraq is now being fought against Islamic fundementalist terrorists, hardly people who share the liberal views of people on this site.
No we look first at whether a law is workable or not! An outright ban on foxhunting would be totally unworkable, you will see that in time if Parliament actually do manage to ban it. Decding not to implement an unworkable law is not the same as condoning animal suffering!

ER no a law is unworkable when the majority of the population oppose it, which is not the case in this situation by any stretch of the imagination.

But the majority of people in the countryside do oppose it such as farmers - the NFU backed the countryside alliance and other country dwellers who depend on the hunt for employment and busness such as saddle makers, horse shoe makers, etc. The countryside alliance could not possibly have mobilised 400,000 people to march against a ban if the majority of people in the countryside were totally against hunting.

And don't say the majority of the 400,000 were marching about other issues, the countryside alliance made it clear that anyone that did not support hunting was not welcome on the march!

We've lost on this issue now call it a day!

Try and follow your own bloody line of reasoning, you muppet. You argued that hunting shouldn't be banned because it was controversial. The war in Iraq is controversial. Is it or is it not the case that you believe controversy should be sufficient reason for a government to abandon a course of action? Or will this be another of those points that you conveniently ignore?

Don't be fucking ridiculous. There are many, many cases of laws being brought in in the face of massive opposition. I remember people saying that Thatcher's union laws would be unworkable. Where's the flying pickets now, eh? You're utterly full of shit.

My workplace is full of people who live in the country. After a quick straw poll, I managed to find just one person who opposed a ban on hunting.

If by "we've lost" you mean that you and your hunting buddies will soon face a ban on your sick pastime, then yes, I agree.

You're scrabbling in the dirt to find excuses to allow the continuation of a barbaric and activity. You've already indicated that you believe it to be a 'sport' and that you couldn't give a fuck about the suffering involved, so I'm hardly surprised by the levels of 'argument' to which you're sinking.

Oh yeah, and I find it fucking hilarious that a 'communist' is arguing that the democratic will of the people should be blocked by a handful of the privileged elite! Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!

They are not a handful though but hundreds of thousands. They are also not the elite as thousands of working class people follow hunts. If they can mobilise 400,000 people they we better listen to them as that proves they are not a few fanatics but people who have got a lot to lose should a ban be brought in, such as rural businesses and workers who depend on hunting for their livihoods.

Yes I am a communist but a democratic one who listens to all sides and all views and allows everyone a chance to defend their corner. Not the type Lenin and Stalin were who forced their plans on the peasants with disasterous results when they caused massive famines and deaths by enforced collectivisation and requistion of grain. I believe rural people know best about rural issues, I also strongly suspect you are lying about living in the countryside. Maybe you live in a small town but not in the countryside itself!

Until there is a common consensus from all sections of British society then a hunt ban will be unworkable. And that doesn't mean I don't care about the suffering of animals it means I am rational and know what the limits are and know that legislation isn't magic.

How many times do we have to go over this? If people drag hunt they wouldn't lose any of these jobs. That's not too hard to get your head round is it?

400,000 all marched to support the hunt dont make me fucking laugh! And even if that were the case which it isn't, that's hardly representitive of the rural population of the UK is it? Do you actually know how many people make up the rural population of the UK?

    No, I didn't think so.

And since when did the Countryside Alliance represent the views of the rural population.....you idiot!:)

Like the hundreds of thousands who opposed the war in Iraq? Should we back down on that issue too? You have all the intellectual consistency of a runny turd.

It's the elite who're threatening to lead any opposition to the law (which was your point - although it's clear you have great difficulty following your own lines of reasoning), once passed. How far do you think hunt followers are going to get without a hunt to follow?

You're fucking insane. It doesn't "prove" anything! Since when does walking along a road "prove" something? Are you sure you're not a tory?

As has been said before, the hunt issue has been used as a rallying point for anti-Labour feeling. The 400,000 people who turned out on that march are no more directly involved in hunting than I am.

Still, I'm glad to see that you believe large demonstrations should be sufficient reason for a government changing tack. I assume that in light of the estimated 750,000 people who mobilsed to protest against the war in Iraq, you now feel we should abandon that also?

LMAO, the act of a desperate twat who can find no better line of reasoning. I have open fields five minutes from my front door, numpty. Would you like some photogrpahs?

You're a deply ignorant idiot. You ignore any point that doesn't suit your own agenda. I repeat: where are the flying pickets now? We were told that in the face of massive opposition, Thatcher's union laws would be unworkable too.

There's nothing unworkable about a hunt ban. You just don't want one. I find it remarkable that you think it's "workable" to impose a "democratic" government on Iraq in the face of massive armed opposition, but in the face of a few huntsmen you declare defeat and run cowering into the corner. Truly, you'll be a hero of the communist revolution.

No, you already made it clear in earlier posts that animal suffering isn't - as you put it - "a priority".

No, it isn't magic. That's why we have the police and the judiciary. Oh yeah, and can you imagine how many sabs will be turning out to help? :)

Don't hold your breath, the anti-hunt movement have already been defeated over the anti-fox hunting bill in the house of lords. Even is the commons uses the Parliament act to force it through that is not the end of it as the Countryside Alliance have vowed to fight the legality of the Parliament act in the courts. If that fails then tens of thousands of them have vowed to defy the ban and keep hunting. Not only that but the Tories have vowed to repeal the hunt ban when they get elected, which will be after the next general election mostly likely.

Just face up to it banning fox hunting is a lost cause.

It will be forced through with the parliament act, so the house of lords has nothing to do with the equation.

LMAO, good fucking luck. I'll be very surprised if they have the slightest bit of success. It's the last gasp of a hopeless, bloody cause.

I look forward to seeing them arrested. I can't wait to see how the ranks of the hunt sabs swell once the law is on their side.

LOL!!!!! Ummm... yeah, ok. It wouldn't surprise me if the tories never get elected again at this rate. If you think they'll actually do something as stupid as repeal this act once it's on the statute books, then you really don't understand politics. The Labour party always promised to repeal the Tory anti-union legislation as well.

Just face up to it, knob-jockey. The people want it and parliament wants it. Hunting is in its dying days. What's hilarious is that a so-called communist appears to hoping that the upper class will manage to overturn the democratic will of the people and parliament, and continue to pursue their barbaric sport. Have you actually listened to yourself? Dickhead.

If you think the cops are going to arrest people for hunting foxes you are living in a fantasy world. The police federation has already anounced that they believe this law is deeply unpopular and do not want to have to enforce it. Plus the fact that the countryside alliance can mobilise hundreds of thousands for acts of civil disobedience to make the ban unworkable.

So was that my personal fantasy world where i heard the Alastair McWhirter, Chief Constable of Suffolk and the Association of Chief Police Officers and spokesman on rural affairs, promise that the police owuld enforce a ban? Muppet.

They didn't want to act against the miners either. But they did. And very effectively. But this is one of those inconvenient points that you ignore and fail to answer. Which would be because you're full of shit and can't.

If a handful of sabs can effectively disrupt a hunt, I really can't see her majesty's constabulary having much of a problem. Gimp. Why is it that you seem to relish the prospect of the continuation of hunting? I don't believe you're a communist or any other left wing individual. I believe you're a right-wing troll.

It seems hard to convince you that the hunt ban will be unworkable. You will just have to wait and see. I can't personally see a hunt ban working not when the police nearly always take the side of the hunt against the sabs.
