If someone robs a bank, they are taking something that doesn't belong to them. They are also clearly a danger. Someone fleeing with their family to better living conditions isn't even close to the same thing. Trying to justify the actions of a compassionless government by comparing something as arbitrary as climbing over a fence with armed robbery is more than a stretch.

If someone enters this country illegally for the purposes of thriving on our social system, or working without paying taxes, they are taking from all of us as Americans that have paid into that sane support system in case WE need it. Robbing a MUCH larger bank.

Robbing a bank is a felony.
Entering the Untied states illegally is a misdemeanor, like a traffic ticket.

    Robbing a bank is amoral.
Entering the U.S. illegally to flee oppression and possible death is not.

So you have no problem taking children from their parents with no record being kept of who they or their parents are, while their parents await trail...in other words they have not been convicted of anything, let alone a misdemeanor?

    Very compassionate of you.

There isn’t enough America to accommodate all the people in the world that are eligible to apply for asylum. Sorry.

Well it is. But it's shithole regions will get lot larger than they are now. And they will all vote Democrat so it's a win for them.

Alaska, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska...these states have a combined population smaller than that of metro NYC. There are parts of West Texas and Northern Minnesota that are virtually un populated.

Ya know what, my mind is now changed.
Thanks to you all, I now think illegals deserve more governmental benefits than veterans and America's homeless population.

That's weird. I don't believe anyone was making that argument.

Don't worry, Nose. They are just trying to dispense bad medicine and it will not be swallowed. The homeless and veterans should get a lot more than they are getting, but if we say it someone will come here to tell us that is wrong, too.

If people are detained for the misdemeanor of crossing a man-made border, they should be able to contact each other. If part of the group is released, having a way to contact each other is not unreasonable. Putting the burden on the ACLU to keep track of kids who have been detained and relocated already is not reasonable. How that is giving them more rights than the homeless or veterans remains unexplained.

Oh yes, the almighty America does so much for the veterans and homeless haha. Even though there's 5-10 empty houses to every one houseless person (including children).

The people at OccupyICE are the same ones fighting anti-homeless architecture and opening up communities of mutual aid and squats for both the houseless and refugee alike. In moments of crisis strong communities come together and help those suffering while the glorious American government does nothing. Colonial borders are a plague on the earth.

"Border Patrol and US Customs, in scenes reminiscent of the dystopian film, Children of Men, have unleashed a massive crackdown on Central American migrants, arresting almost 70,000 in February, the highest monthly total in years. Migrants in El Paso, Texas that have been arrested and captured have then been placed in make shift camps under freeways, photos of which have made their way onto social media, going viral."

"To top things off, Trump recently conducted an interview with Sean Hannity on Fox News, where he implied it would be much easier to shoot migrants with a machine gun “like other countries,” but he “wouldn’t want to do it,” and instead, reiterated his demand for a massive border wall that would cost tens of billions of dollars."
