I've never seen Casablanca, though feel I should really at some point. I have, however, seen the Simpsons lost alternative ending to it, with Hitler jumping out of the piano....

I never really got into the whole brat pack thing.. Cassablanca is excellent though, but I don't think Bogart is a patch on Peter O'Toole for films like Lawrence of Arabia (obviously), The Ruling Class (a MUST see! Hilarious and deeply sad), Murphys War (always loved that film!)

It's true though, your original point, not may greats about today are there?

There are a few film stars around who are I think in that Hollywood tradition, those you really respect and admire (and fancy) and would go to see a film just because they're in it. Some that come to mind are Scarlett Johansson, Jude Law, Kirsten Dunst, Jake Gyllenhaal. They've all been in some really quality films as well as being huge names.

Haven't seen "Treasure of the Sierra Madre" yet but it's on my list of things to watch[IMG] I believe it was remade as "Trespass" in 1992 with Ice Cube[IMG]

    I love Mr Bogart!!

I have 3 of his movies

    1) The african queen (1951) - Pretty much first VHS release (1979 - Magnetic Video)
    2) The Maltese falcon (1941) - Pretty much first VHS release (1981 - Magnetic Video)
    3) Casablanca (1942) - Pretty much first VHS release (1981 - Magnetic Video)

Dirk by the way.. Dirk bogarde....

Sir Derek Jules Gaspard Ulric Niven van den Bogaerde, known professionally as Dirk Bogarde,

Better variety of films... by far!
