    Ranger,

Probably the Setter initially brought them home to raise them for the sole purpose of fattening them up so that they'd make a more hearty meal. But after a time, she grew attached to them and changed her mind. The setter was as surprised as anyone by the outcome. :)

my cat comes up to me when he wants pet. one of the same reasons a dog would. my cat can play a version of fetch too haha.

my cat actually does greet me at the door everyday when i come home. he doesn't protect my stuff though. unless your other dog is much bigger (i only saw the one with the hurt ear), i don't think he does either...

and honestly, it's pretty fucked up that your dog has killed multiple cats. you should be able to train him better than that since they are ...uh, so trainable. ;)

I had a Javanese (close relative to Siamese and from same region) so bossy, so much personality and very smart. So this, I believe.

Also, pork, my cat plays fetch! She brings her mouse to me and drops it in front of me when she wants me to toss it. She will keep bringing it back to me until she's had enough. Freakin awesome!

One day the big male Aruba (head size of St Bernard's) was curled up a sleep in the kitchen. Cat comes running, jumps in middle of sleeping giant! ROAR! Cat vanishes, Aruba's eyes slam open, spits Grayfolk out, hippie bystanders freak!!! Dog & cat get big kick out of freaking hippies so thereafter whenever they catch a new visiter/victim guess what.:2thumbsup:

I hear stuff like that all the time from cat owners, but to me it's not the same. If you like cats.. cool. I'm not saying people shouldn't own them and love them. They just aren't for me.

Not sure what you mean by much bigger, that dog is 84 lbs as of today. My other one is a 90 lb pit bull. That weimaraner kept intruders out of my house on multiple occasions when I lived in a bad area. They are pretty serious guard dogs, but the pit is the one who will get the job done.

And it is fucked up. I'm not proud of it, don't encourage it and have tried to train it out of him. But at this point I just keep him under control around other animals.

You see I rescued him from a dog fighting ring. He is game bred, high prey drive. He was also being abused to have his spirit broken so he could be a bait dog (since he was the runt). I took him out of there and he was a trainwreck. Then my gf at the time had 3 seriously evil cats. He would try to play and they would hiss, attack and slice his nose. Then her beagle attacked him. A dog can only take so much I guess, because as soon as he got bigger he killed one of her cats and two strays in the backyard. Like I said I lived in the hood at the time and there were feral cats all over the place, they are mean and nasty. All of my exes cats were feral rescues, so they still had that wild streak.

He hasn't killed a cat in 3 years, but I am fully aware that he would if he was around one. I could probably socialize him to a cat like I can to other dogs but I'm not around any cats these days.

    Deviate,

Man I applaud you for rescuing your dog. I rescued two dogs after they had been abused, and it is no picnic dealing with their problems. One was a pitbull, and the other was a gloden retriever. I had them both at the same time. They were very loving, but sometimes they would . . . get strange. What a time.

While using a squirt gun on cats works fine, it does nothing to help with dogs. :(

I can relate to that getting strange. Good on you for rescuing your dogs.

The weim I rescued also. From a cokehead who would leave him caged up for days at a time. He had heartworms and was completely emaciated. I haven't had aggression problems with him but he's super neurotic and can't be confined. He accidentally shut himself in my bathroom once and I came home to a shredded door, walls and trim. Needless to say he is giving me hell having his head bandaged that's why I'm taking him to work.

The pit loves people but I can't trust him around other animals. It really sucks but what can I do? I can't just give him away because he has issues. And I really can't blame him for having those issues.

    I posted this:

For those concerned about getting water everywhere when using the water solution, that doesn't happen with a squirt gun which shoots a narrow stream. And if it does, then perhaps you need to brush up on your marksmanship. And water doesn't smell.

I got a negative rep from happilyinlove because of it, along with this comment:

"well like I said I don't want to terrorize my cat with a water gun or spray bottle, and you making this point is redundant we covered it already."

    happilyinlove,

I feel that I should point out that the world does not revolve around you, and that you have some control issues you need to deal with before they spill out on someone else. There was nothing in my post worthy of a negative rep. You don't own this thread, and you certainly don't dictate the terms by which others must comply. Please don't use negative reps as a stalking tool.

Funny, I was about to say the same thing to you.

Anyway, I'm not complaining. I just thought I would show everyone what you thought deserved a negative rep so that they could see that you have unresolved control issues.

What's funny is your whiney be-otching appears on every thread. You feel the need to interfere and stick your nose in every issue, especially when it doesn't involve you. Talk about control issues.

Oh you don't like my rep so you make a scene and complain about it. Wahhh. News flash, you're a hypocrite.

Well, it is a debate fourm, now isn't it? Or did you think it was something else--something for . . . YOU??

It's actually not a debate forum. But you turn every conversation into a debate.

You also derail threads like its your occupation. People complain to you and ask you not to, but you don't care - you just keep being disruptive.

This thread isn't about you, not about your disappointment in negative rep. Not about dogs either. It's about cat declawing, so unless you want to add constructive advice or discussion gtfo.

I suggest you check out the forums so that you can come to terms with that fact that it is a place for debate and opinions. If you really believe I'm being disruptive in all the threads I enter, why don't you lodge a complaint.

In the meantime, please understand that all I did was show people what you thought deserved a negative rep. Don't worry, if you were justified in doing so, then eveyone will see that. I think you're angry because you know exactly what it looked like and what it says about you.

And as far as gtfo? No! Now what?
