Some people say the US is an evil plutocracy. Evil, I don't know. And plutocracy? Well, it's not clear who has the control in the US. Or any country really. There is no such thing as a direct democracy, anywhere in the world. And one way or another, the elite are in control, they monopolize the power. And they always make the people there think that they have more say in the government than they actually do. It's true.

As far as the US being dominated by greedy corporations. Perhaps a little. But the thing about corporations is, they always bring a lot of money with them. So it's always there, even if they don't always share it well. And the US isn't they only country with a government that is or seems evil sometimes. Maybe it just doesn't try to hide what it does. If a country were ever to say it was perfect and always respected human rights, that is when you should get worried. Because they were plainly lying. And are trying to deceive you too.

Actually, internationally the world community is mainly concerned with the death penalty as a human rights abuse in the US. Our freedoms are probably the most extensive in the world. Even places like Sweden sometime suppress their people's freedoms. Here, Amnesty International even talks about that:
