    Does that mean Chinese pre-dates African civilisation?

    No the oldest human fossil to date remains Australopithecus, at 3.67 million years old discovered in South Africa.

    But it means that early humans, being the peripatetic wanderers that they are, left Africa far earlier than first thought and may have given rise to Homo Erectus.
