I have been known to save resin and smoke it, is it my first choice? No.
That is a large resin ball though.. WHOAHH..!

And actually i save my bacon grease also.

 

If you take a 18mm gong slide and a nail, you can usually get a few grams at once by using the flat underside of the nail to scrape and pull back towards you. And it will fill very fast. And be good quality, with minimally burnt material in it. Very intoxicating.

Just sayin.

 

in regards to my bacon grease/res comparison...saving the byproduct of one thing to use to make something else is different than consuming that byproduct on it's own.

I'm just not down with smoking res, or letting my pieces get so fucking dirty that i can scrape alot of res. If there is a half gram of res in one of my pieces it is well past it's cleaning date. With a clean piece you get much better flavour, smoother hits and can take bigger hits. For me cannabis isn't just about getting high. I enjoy the full experience - the taste/smell, etc. Which is why I flush res and don't see it as a 'plan-b' "if I'm out of concentrates/buds I can still get high".

I've been dabbing on oil recently and honestly when I saw that big gross res puck I actually felt an uneasiness in my gut that someone would consider doing anything other than tossing it. There is so much high quality product available these days, to try and catch a buzz off the byproducts just seems wrong. It's like giving your car an oil change and saving the dirty oil to use in other equipment because it still provides some lubrication.

Sure if you're in a pinch and don't have time to grab but want to toke something before bed, give your piece a scrape and rip it, but don't purposely let it build up res so you can scrape it and save it.

Anyways this is all my perspective/opinion on res and is not directed at anyone in particular. If you like to save your res then I'm not stopping you, all I'm saying is that it is meant to be thrown away and that there are such high quality cannabis products out there that if you've tried them you wouldn't dare smoke resin.

 

This post has made me realize that I'm like the light beer drinker of weed. I could easily write a similiar post extolling the virtues of drinking a good craft beer and dismissing light beer, but when I read this I just scoff and think, "whateverrrr, dude. I just wanna get stoned." I'm like someone who drinks coors light because they just want to get drunk lol.

If you're out of ganja and/or money, then smoking resin is a good alternative. Even though the taste and smell of bud is great, the main goal is getting high. Would you rather be broke and sober or would you take advantage of the gift that keeps on giving? It maybe seen as gross or desperate to some but you're still getting high either way and that's all that matters.

By the way, My bowl didnt survive four years by having metal scrapers jammed in it every day or so.

i used to be all about smoking resin. but now i rarely do. i also try not to run out of weed these days, so i don't often have the "need" to smoke resin.

it's gotta be terrible for your lungs

and i have to agree with vapemaster than a resined up piece makes even great weed taste kinda bad. i hate smoking out of bowls anyways, but i try to keep my bong super clean.
