It took hearing the locker room talk, and that disturbs me a little bit...not anything else? Don't most men judge women by the way they look alone?...Ok, maybe I use the word "MOST" too liberally...but many do anyway.....many men talk shit to their buddies about women...What people say never really bothered me. I have heard it all anyway...so nothing shocks me in words that people utter.... I look at what they do and who they are, and try to find reasons for what they may be saying....fitting in?....getting attention? or are they really like that?...It takes further investigation always.....as we all say stupid things..... I wonder about the alleged rape....of the 13 year old though....What is upwith that????!!!
Like moon says. I judge not by what one says but by what one does. We know we will get a slow steady decline of the present course with hillary. We will open Pandoras box with trump. Here is to hoping whoever wins, dies immediately and the vice takes over and does something positive.
Its empire baby, and this train ain't stopping until she derails. Caligula was the worst of the Roman emperors and the US is merely getting warmed up. Just more bread and circuses.
and then there is other reasons for things people say...bad day?....angry?....ect, ect.... Yeah, whatever is in the air about AM politics....is not feeling or looking too good right now...
You sound like some kind of Democratic Party hack. Hillary CLITon is so unlikeable, I would rather see that orange-colored, pumpkin-headed potato win. Not that it matters either way who wins since presidents are nothing more than figureheads. Who gives a fuck about "the first female president." Hillary is about as female as RuPaul.
Figureheads who can declare war on anyone without consulting congress and who decide all by themselves, like Bush did, to tell the regulatory agencies to stop cracking down on Wall Street or whatever. Republicans are increasingly insisting we are already involved in WWIII and they are prepared to attack every country in the world along with trashing the whole world economy. Thankfully, at least those with money are beginning to comprehend that kind of insanity is not productive and are funding democrats like Hillary knowing perfectly well whoever advertises more gets the prize.
It's not as much the money game this time around as it has been in the past. The wild card was Trump paying for so much of his own campaign during the primaries. All that money you speak of comes into play when candidates are essentially bribing their way into a seat. It has indeed become very common in the US, especially in the upper tiers. In the lower tiers we actually see the opposite more often. That's because the pool of influence is smaller and the bribes can only be washed through trite things like printing companies and venues. We have seen plenty of come-from-behind campaigns in the US. Usually when the established cronies start to lose power. Citizens wake up and realize that the person with the small ad budget is the one actually telling the truth and suggesting fixes. Trump is essentially dragging small town politics upward, which is no surprise. He's done this sort of thing before, skewing public opinion to get casinos built in places that wanted jobs but didn't want all the crap that usually follows casinos. He played on their emotions and made promises that were initially kept. The Huffington Post went awry when Arianna sold herself out of it. It's just a blog for hard core leftists these days but way less balanced than Slate or Politico. And who can trust comment sections from Facebook? Fook that!
I think you miss the essential point that the truth simply no longer matters because whoever advertises the most will win any election. Democracy in America is now officially dead and only a mockery remains. In ten years of asking if anyone even knows the simple distinction between a lynch mob and a democracy I have yet to hear the correct answer. In fact, half of the people I've spoken to admitted they were suspicious of the common dictionary and sometimes preferred to make up their own definitions even though almost none of them even had a clue that the common dictionary merely contains popular definitions. You simply can't have a functional government of any kind when nobody can even agree upon the definitions of the words. The lights are merely left on because nobody is home and the money takes on a life of its own with people merely following the food and water wherever they lead like so many mindless cattle. Its Three Stooges see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil slapstick and, for example, its now illegal to vote for Mickey Mouse in the state of Maryland because nobody wants to hear the truth. While public approval of congress has dipped as low as 7% of the population, roughly 60% consistently insist the government and mass media they call evil lie to them for their own protection.
I understood your point, I just don't accept it as universal. Sure, it can seem like the fattest wallet gets the highest seat. But nobody paid to advertise what they did to Eric Cantor, a brilliant play by the democrats that didn't cost a thing. Cantor should have won, he had the most money. Also, I've never thought of the US as a democracy. There are too many layers of lawyers, lobbyists and middlemen for that to be true. And the only thing making today's mobs relevant is the press who is driving them with lies so they will keep doing stuff that sells news (ads). They aren't actually accomplishing anything positive. Instead they are alienating the only people who might give a crap.
It doesn't have to be universal to be true anymore than quantum mechanics have to be more than statistically predictable because the issue is "what's missing from this picture" rather than what does it contain. By any academic standards a democracy that cannot prove it is a democracy is merely someone's fantasy.
Ultimately, concepts like democracy, communism and the array of '-isms are a pack of lies meant to distract the bulk of humanity from realizing they are owned by a small handful of people. I wonder if they all get together and play a game a majong as a way to drive policies. I wonder what the nuclear tile looks like. Is there a tile for interns? Chuck Norris? Prince? Colonel Sanders?
Its Three Stooges slapstick all the way which is why the machines are taking over. The computers are required to design any weapons and they are increasingly doing more of the decision making as well with, for example, computers increasingly doing the trading on Wall Street. You can claim someone is in charge of these computers, but if they don't use the very best available they will become history. A study recently concluded that perhaps 1,700 international conglomerates, banks basically, run the world economy. However, they all use the same cutthroat poker approach and might as well all be run by the same computer program. The lights are literally on, but nobody's home and its largely inertia that is keeping everything going which is why the whole world ecology looks ready to collapse. Already computers are capable of producing things that are just flat out humanly incomprehensible and that gap will only grow exponentially with the next generation of computers. At that point some balance will restored because its not about survival of the fittest, but the most creative.
Most people are getting exactly what they deserve. The have low standards for themselves and for others, and it's a pain in the ass to listen to them complain about the way things are, because guess what? Your behavior is obscene and people that behave like you are fucking idiots. So make your own bed and shit in it.
Most men do not talk like that about women, at least not in my experience. I lived in the barracks for 2 years surrounded by 18-21 year old guys and yeah, guys can talk rough sometimes, but I heard surprisingly little of that kind of thing. What you do hear, however, is a lot of lies about sexual experience. It's said that young men lie about what they've never done and old men lies about what they can't do anymore.
