    Hi Ladies,

I had a pap last year which revealed a high risk strain of HPV, and a few months later I met my boo. We are so in love, but she has a very real phobia of germs she has struggled with since childhood. She is terrified of contracting HPV (even though its really not a huge health concern) and could not live with herself if she gets it from me.
Her doctor told her that recent research shows it may be possible to get it even from fingering or from either of us toughing my "juices" in bed. The doctor told my sweetheart that if she stayed with me, she would get it and to break up with me.
My sexy stud is trying to make it work but sex is so important for me to feel close and loved. She has never gone down on me because of the risk, and now she can't even touch my pussy!! We tried a strap and she wore several pairs of shorts underneath, but was scared after sex bc the shorts rode up and may have exposed her to the HPV. We are going to try latex gloves and using her hands to touch me (I can go down on her), but its very hard not to touch anything else after touching me, like the sheets for instance.

Does anyone have advice on how to make our sex life work? Has anyone else dealt with a tricky STD and how to get around it??

Please help me, I love her more than anything and we have been hanging on for a long time, but we can't last like this forever!!

I'm not going to state an opinion on vaccines here- but just ask a question... don't they have vaccines for that??

good point. unfortunately, the doctor said it is only recommended by the manufacturers for people ages 26 and younger (we are older).
the doctor also said that the vaccine is far from 100% effective, so it hasn't helped her fears at all :(

Okay. Yea, I don't really know anything about how effective it is.. just that it exists. I DO know that anyone, at any age, can get the vaccine... the thing with it is though that insurance I believe only covers it for recommended age groups but if you paid out of pocket anyone should be able to get it.
Don't a lot of people have HPV? I mean.... A LOT? I'm not sure what percentage I heard but I think I heard something really, really high...
I don't really know what other advice to give you other than the vaccine plus precautions (combined) maybe?....
Other than that I guess in situations like that people just have to look at the whole situation- the big picture- and decide how much this is worth to you compared to that (the relationship.... and the risk/fear...)

Seriously she is scared of HPv hype 80% of all sexually active people will get hpv sometime in their lives. Period & if you tested positive for it a year ago retest becuz more then likely your body has already passed it as in most cases it truly just goes away on it's own not causing any harm to you. They just love hyping up the link between HVP and cervical cancer, but that's like saying people with brown eyes are more likely to get it as da most people have brown eyes soo of course more of them get it. if 80% of everyone gets hpv and only .008% get cancer after then really can you blame HVP. I think there is more facts in blaming it on a person having sex on a sunday, but hey if they could scare you into buying infective BS vaccines to prevent that they would.

Plus if you really want to be super safe your gf can use gloves and condoms on your sex toys --- there are ways for female couples to get each other off without just going down town on each other.

Sadly, its not the danger of HPV, but the fact that my boo has a phobia of germs and viruses.
There are ways to have safe sex for most STDs (condoms, gloves) but actually HPV is spread easier than any other STD because even normal skin can contract it. Its easy to keep our fluids from mixing, but hard to keep my fluids from touching ANYTHING.
    Any ideas?
