Out exploring and found this site.Be kind as I am new. Born and raised SF Ca. I am a ground zero hippie. Always bin one, always will. I am looking for others of my Species to converse with. Can you hep it?
Welcome from another old hippie-- since 1967. I hitchhiked from Connecticut to California in 72, when I was 19, because the songs said I'd find the beautiful people there. Stayed a couple years. You're sure to find a spot here that's comfortable as an old shoe. I pick a song for each new member, something their name or comments suggests to me. For you, it's Are You Going To San Francisco, by Scott McKenzie. Oh, and I'm a big fan of the defective detective, Monk. He's from your neck of the woods!
Howdy Angelmama. 1967 was my introduction to the life. Smoked my first dubie , learned why females are so fascinating. LOL Summer of love, I was 12. Alas, I no longer call the city my home. I now reside out on the prairie of Colorado. I would think the song " Little Boxes" more in tune. LOL
Good afternoon matey and welcome. The term 'fellow traveller' has another connotation - it means membership of the Communist Party, and yes I am a 'fellow traveller' !!!
Me too, but I was 14. Little Boxes--I remember the song; little boxes made of ticky taki, wasn't it? Don't remember the artist, just that it was a woman. How about The Sons of the Pioneers; Song of the Prairie or Blue Prairie, they did both. I love them.Ken Curtis, a founding member of the group, went on to become Festus Haggen on Gunsmoke, which I also love. I think that will fit you.
Welcome to the forums! We love hippies, and old ones are rare. Good place to find friends here! SF is a magical place, or was... now it's not the same but the spirit of love lives on within us. So many memories of SF, the concerts in GG Park, the smokeouts at 420 Hill, the Haight, the Castro, the Embarcadero, the Pier... all fun and so expensive now you can't afford a cup of coffee anymore. So I fled NorCal. Like you. Tiny Boxes, that was the tune from WEEDS! Now that show was cool, funny, and prophetic. Colorado Springs is filled with tiny boxes on the same narrow streets as in WEEDS. I have friends from all over the word living in that area... Meanwhile, have fun and enjoy the day!
My fathers family came over from near St Peatersburg in 1905. My family name is old titled Prussian. ll my older ankles carried the card.
My oh my I missed all this lovely welcome thread. How lovely to have you join us. I am across the pond. Hoping to travel after this Pandemic is over.
