Don't let your mother force her political opinions on you, but don't let your political opinions tear your family apart. There are a lot more important things to worry about.

You're young, and you may have different opinions from her, and feel free to go out and learn more about it. Odd's are both you and you're mom are wrong about things.

Politics isn't black and white, everything in politics is a complicated grey area.

The problem with debate today is everybody just finds a party that infantilises a stance on a couple platforms, and then expects their members to go along and contribute money to their causes.

You're young, and your political opinions will probably evolve a lot through your life.

She's your mom... she might be set in her believs, but that doesn't mean you have to conform to them.

But you can also accept her points of view and it'll be a lot easier on both of you.

Tell her you are sexually predominantly attracted to children aged 6-10 of the same sex as you, especially dead ones. Then add "well actually not, but I'm a communist" and she'll be so relieved that she won't be mad at you.

Hei JanaXGIRL. What's wrong with communism? And Why do you connect it with hitler? And I think you confuse Lenin with Stalin. And Lenin is not the same as communism. People mean many different things with communism. Some communists are really good, although some are very bad too. That is always the problem when things get too big. Problem is that only few people really read about communism and usually people take it for granted. You can say that communism is bad and that communists are fuckers and nobody critisizes you, or asks you to explain. That's because it is so mainstream to be anticommunist. To critisize communism because of Stalin and Lenin and Mao etc is about the same as to critisize democracy because of Bush, Hitler, Churchill...

 

Well Hitler's regime wasn't exactly democratic now was it? I mean, he got voted for and all, but once he had power he grabbed hold of more and more with it, and ultimately the whole country was ruled by just one man instead of the people. Not a democracy at all.

 

My mom is the same way. Once I mentioned about being a hippie and she's all 'No you're not!' and stuff so now I have to say I'm not punk or hippie or anything just to have her not be all close minded about everything....

I tried to say something like: If the communist ideals didn't get realized in those revolutions, we shouldn't call those societies communist as we shouldn't call our present day societies true democracies. I know i don't know enough about these things, but this is what I think. I think democratic ideal is good as long as it means that power is equally distributed for the people. This doesn't only mean right to vote, but power is much wider concept. There are different power resources: money, property, information, media... In a capitalist country there is inequality concerning these resources and that makes the authenticity of democracy questionable. Communism is not pop today and I guess it's partly good, but the same basis, citicism of global capitalism lives in the antiglobalist movement. Old thing developing and getting a new name and new concepts. But as Thich Nhat Hanh says: give a man a gun and he may kill six people, give a man an ideology and he can kill thousands.

what? you are askin´ me what???? oooh, what??? look, my country lived in communist regime since 1948 till 1989.. the czech people couldn't travel to other coutries, only to coutries like Russia, East Germany.. to the other socialistic countries.. my grandpa was in a prison for 2 years, because he didn't do what communists wanted.. he was against it, so they took him his farm and simply arrested him.. my daddy couldn't study the uni, because his dad, my grandpa, was AGAINST communists...

I am sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I think we're talking about a different thing here. Communism for me means something quite different from what was going on in the soviet union and eastern europe. I wouldn't call it communism. Because I have an idea about what communism means and Soviet Union did not have much to do with that, it was another form of exploitation. Didn't you read what I just wrote before? You know, my grandfather was also in a prison camp, he was only 16 years old, here in Finland in 1918, because he was a communist. Don't be so angry! I beg you! Let's be friends! There's more in life than just these stupid ideologies. I don't like argues. What can I do so you wouldn't be angry?

It is a pickle theres no doubt about it, but have no shame, because fighting for world peace is not a shameful thing.

 

Communism only works for ants.
The idea of communism, is an extreme reaction to the abuses the upper classes can often inflicked on the lower. It's a fairytale notion. If you've ever lived in a house with roommates, you'll know how hard it really is to "comune". Don't get me wrong. Some small communes may be great places, and work well but they ALL have to be exclusive in order to work. In a large scale society, the only way to keep it going and together is by turning into a "China or Soviet Union" and rule with a fist.

You communist (mostly great and good hearted people) always say, that real communism has not had a chance to prove itself. That's because it never will be able to- it goes too much against the nature of mankind.

Communism was born in societies that had a form of "capitalism" without freedom and rights for all its people. The only freedom, was the freedom for the rich to take advantage of the working class. Today, "capitalism", though resisting as much as it can, has and is moving more and more toward a fair balance of power without taking away the natural struggle that makes us stronger and wiser.

 

Communism starts out as a great and beautiful idea, and given a chance to grow it becomes this monster she is talking about. You can't control it. Once you turn over your power to a "collective" you will have no individual control over your life.

 

Check it homes. Life is a fairy tale, or atleast should be. The only propblem is when people dont respect life or the responsibility we all have to being satisfied with what we have been given.
Before government there was no government(communism), it is what were are born into. Just one big family baby.
Then your right we got bigger or spread, but so what, its a big earth. Natural resources are produce for humans not certain humans. thats were selfishness comes in. sure we have to share apples but atleast were being fair and realistic. No one can owne anyhting anyways, they just think they can. Just because we call it amercai doesn't mean its not just the earth. It is earth before we called amerca, and will be earth after amerca falls. America is just a concept in our minds. animals dont see america, they see earth.We jsut need to relax and live. Thats comunism.

 

Working for the greater cause of all man is what were here to do. Or else the whole would only consist of you. And capitalsim is selfish, and opprssive. Dont give me that you work for the greater system individually. People have to work regardlessly. and no money doesnt drive people, or else we wouldn't have got to the point were money began.

 

Communism is easy: From each based on ability, to each based on need. You have to abondon commersialization though, and not want for thnings like televisions and refridgerators, and other things you don't need.

You can be a communist right now. If you have more of something than you need, give it away. It doesn't matter if the person to whom you give it is an aquetince of yours or not.

Shareing is great, and it makes it so that everyone has what they need and no one ever starves.

 

So good to see I'm not the only fucker here! But to try to avoid unnecessary quarrel here, I will not call myself with that name. But I will be anti-capitalist till my last breath.
