How to start your own religion?

I was thinking about starting one. its called : "Free Holiday" (Like a ticket )that you could give it to people for fun! the symbol is a big pink dollar sign on a white flag

The aim is to get more holidays per year. Like Xmas.. Everyone can chose an extra celebration day per year that can be celebrated any way the individual wants.

anyone can sign up.
You can be Jew, Christian, Hindu, Muslim, whatever. Actually the belief in god is not a requirement to join my religion. You can think whatever you want. The control of the mind is not the aim of the religion.

All you have to do is send me some bitcoins and accept me as the most awesome ruler of the infinite universe and in return You shall get a piece of paper declaring that you are part of my religion... you can show this to your teachers in your school and you can try to claim your extra holidays (so you don't have to go to school on those days)!!

The religion is mostly aimed at people between the ages of 13-18.

I think for it to be considered a valid dogmatic religion, you need to piss a lot of people off, burn a few non believers and start a couple of wars over nothing in particular.

As I remember from world religions class, in order to be considered a religion there had to be at least three things... deity, ritual and congregation.

By definition then everyone starts their own religion when they aspire to the pursuit of happiness through the pursuit of things. In popular terms the almighty dollar inspires the ritual of punching the clock with the rest of the rat race.

 

here you have touched upon something that does indeed contain more then a grain of truth.

people persue illusions, because culturally they have been convinced that is where to find gratification, when of course, in fact, it is not.

i'd think to begin with an unsuspecting group that already
exists ... such as people who have rabbits . first , insist
sensibly that there is not a man in the moon there is a
rabbit . one might also mention the fact that when one
becomes addicted to killing rabbits (even for science) a
poor and drunken life is inevitable . then appear to be
passionate about a few more such fantastical facts - such
as of the heroic rabbits who ride around in cars touring the
national parks . one time i gave the puppy a rabbit to play
with ... oh , it became a very strange and sorry story that
changed the neighborhood . now that the dog is grown she
looks at me in a special way whenever i say 'remember bunny' .
