I've totally heard other people say this, so I know you're not alone, but I myself don't understand the whole "swimming makes you sober". I swim, surf, etc. all summer long, and smoke too, and I've never once went into the water and suddenly "lost my high". Does it only work in swimming pools? I don't get the science behind it. But I suppose everybody is different.
swimming (esp. at dark) is a little too trippy for me to handle stoned... neways the best way to combat the effects of THC is to A) not smoke pot or B) take a nap. ... and they had all the oranges and soap in Fear and Loathing because the magazine paid for their hotel, and naturally their room service.
Oranges have plenty of sugars in them naturally, and some orange juices even have added sugars, so that probably works along the same as the sugar/water or candy trick. But yea, I would imagine Eugene and SirTokes have it best with just not smoking the stuff if you can't handle it. Or atleast not as much.
i dont know why, its just from my experience, beach included, when im swimming, its hard to tell whether im high or not. but ive not done it that many times

i agree with the placebo effect. if youre not super-high and you have a strong mind, youll definately be able to get over it.
when i was in sketchy situations. i just closed my eyes, focus for a bit on whats going on and how im going to act, talk, look etc. and im just fine. kinda like a miniature meditation thing
Yeah that sounds cool. I used to just control my breathing; making sure to take deep, slow breaths, because fast, shallow breathing can increase your heart rate a bit. I don't know why, but burping also seems to help a little. Pissing helps A LOT, actually.....don't know why.
Sometimes I try to fool myself into soberness, just to see if I can. Well, I can almost every time and it's always so disappointing. When I'm really far gone though, there's absolutely no coiming back. I better stop thinking about thinking myself sober because I almost have just writing this.
Call me crazy but why would you smoke pot and then try and sober up. I thought people smoke weed to get high. =/
