How To Get To Heaven When You Die

Hey xfrodobagginsx. I have found that you just turn people off by preaching at 'em. If you want to turn people on the Jesus then tell 'em how your relationship with Him has improved your life and has helped you to be a better person.


Just like that 'ol song says. If you can not sing like angels, if you can not preach like Paul you can tell of the love of Jesus and say he died for all.

It seems that too many Christians fail to emphasize God as the God of Love.

Remember what Paul said in I Corinthians 13:1-7 and 13 "Though I speak all the languages of men and of angels but have not love, I am like a sounding brass or a clanging cymbol. And though I have the gift of prophecy adn understand all mysteries and all knowledge and though I have faith that could move mountains but I have not love I am nothing And though I give all my money to the poor and give my body to be burned but have not love, it does me no good. Love is patient and is kind: love does not envy love does not parade itself, is is not full of itself;does not behave rudely, does not seek its own way, is not easily provoked,thinks no evil; rejoices not in evil doing but rejoices in the truth; love bears all things, hopes all things and endures all things.

13 And now abide faith hope and love but the greatest of these three is love.

Yes Jesus is a real person and having him as a friend has made a huge difference in my life. I was a negative,bitter, selfish and hateful person before I became friends with God. He has helped me to be more a positive, kind giving and caring person. I'm certainly not perfect or better than anyone else its a work in progress.

This is the Christianity forum. If you don't like it, then don't bother reading it.

 

First, Jesus never wrote any of the books in the Bible. The books of the New Testiment were written at least 50 to 200 years or more after his death by people who never meet him in person, that is fairly well established. There is nothing to suggest that any of his 12 side kicks are the authors of any of those books or letters.
Second, just look at how we, modern man, in no time at all can turn someone who has died into so much more than they were in real life. Elvis and Ronald Reagan for example. Followers tend to focus on the messenger more than the message. And because people in general have a hard time understanding metaphores, the early leaders of the christian movement knew that to expand their ideas the masses would need a real person, a name to hang their hopes on. A saviour.

I beleive, Jesus said something like this,-
"There is a spirit, if you will, that connects us all to one another. A spirit of mankind. This spirit is inside each and everyone of us. And this spirit that connects us all makes us all brothers and sisters, the children, if you will, of our maker (God). You may not be aware of this spirit until you open your heart to it as I have. And when you do, you will see that this is a holy spirit. A spirit of love. When I open my heart to it, it says to me,-
'I (meaning the spirit) am the light, I am the truth and I am the way. Through me you are one with your maker and one with all things.'

But, even today, modern man for the most part can't understand metaphores, or etherial concepts. They need things solid and black and white. They need a flesh and blood savior with a face and a name.
They need solid sink your teeth into religions, because spiritualism is "invisable" and requires too much blind faith. They need concrete answers, damn it! They can't trust they'll be ok when they die, they wanna know where they're gonna go and who's gonna be there.
They wanna know that those people who made fun of them or teased them or did them wrong are GONNA GET THEIR PUNISHMENT!
They wanna know God's on their side.


Just so you know, Humphry Bogart, in Casablanca, never said, "play it again, Sam." And their's no evidence of the whole George Washington throwing a coin across the Patomic River (or was it the Delaware River). Christopher Columbus wasn't the first European to discover the americas, Britney Spears can't sing without electronic assistance, and the only throne King Elvis sat on was the kind he died on.

Nothing to say about my posts? Believe me, I have no distain for you or other christians, as I was one once too. There are always two extremes to being off balance and I believe religious people, including christians, are the off balance opposite extreme of those who are off balance in the other direction, with no faith at all.
I do believe you feel the spirit in you, but I believe your faith would be stronger without religion.
Jesus was attempting to bring change to his people who held onto a extremely dogmatic religion, Judism. He was wise enough to not attempt to say Judism was bullshit filled with human manipulation. So, he attempted to bring forth a new covenent. A small step away from the dogma. A first step away from religion toward pure spiritualism. Obviously, they weren't ready, for they turned him into a dogmatic religion. When you're ready to make the next step, you will find your admiration for Jesus will actually increase. When you see him as just a man and not a God. It takes a far braver normal human man to stand up and speak out against the tide on his own, then for someone who has had angels come down and tell him he is chosen by God and is his only son and given magic powers to raise the dead and turn water into wine.
I know you won't admit it to me on this site. But, in time, you will think about what I've said and one day it will make sense to you. When you let go of the fear religion has gripped you with.

No it doesn't. It means that 5.2 million people don't have Jesus, so I have a lot of work to do. Most of them have never heard the gospel or they would convert. It's just the spoiled europeans and americans who reject and will suffer the greater damnation for hearing and rejecting. Still there are alot of people in both europe and america who have never heard and I am here for them.

The bible was written by 4 blokes in a time where they thought the world was flat! I'm sure it's a good read though.. If god is the creator of man then why did he make us with the ability to do evil? That's poor craftsmanship imo. Theres around 100 different gods that man has manifested over time. This leads to indifference and a conflict of beliefs. One day all nations might reach 'enlightenment' and worship common sense.

 

Maybe god should have made his word more interesting.

 

The point of posting the tract is not to show intellectual power, but to simply give the gospel in it's simplest form. If you want more mental stimulation, I recommend that you read C.S. Lewis or Dr. Lewis Sperry Chafer's Systematic Biblical Theology. If you really want to understand the bible, you need the Holy Spirit, which you cannot have unless you are a Christian in the first place.
