Trust? Is that like faith? People of religion have no faith or trust. They need a religion to promise them something, out of their fear of death. They need answers to explain the pain and suffering. They need to hear how the greedy will get punished in the end.
True trust needs no answers. True faith needs no religion. My maker is my maker, my maker needs no name. I see in my makers work (nature) my makers design. Seek truth through nature, let your faith be blind. Live with balance and kindness toward others. When you die, fall back blind and faithful that you will be caught and cared for.
There's no need of streets of gold.

that's not quite God's word, sweetie pie...Throughout all the translations and political upheaval that's gone down in the last 2,000 years, that it wasn't going to be changed and manipulated? If it was originally God's word, it's really far from it now...

Not to mention, I agree with Freakwent....Faith is not having to believe in anything...Just seeing and knowing and trusting without the word of some divine force that may or may not exist.

Not to be offensive, but the mainstream view of Christianity that states a simple prayer to God results in your salvation and a permanent spot in Heaven is brought about by false prophecy that many churches in this day and age sadly promote.

I am not blaming the people, I am blaming the church leaders.

First of all if you would study it, the bible is clearly the word of God. You have faith in nothing, I have faith in God. As far as saying a simple prayer, the bible says that if we recieve Him (Christ) we will be saved, the prayer is summing these things up to God. By the way, God has always been true, it is man that changes. God doesn't worry about what is cool or not. If you don't want God, you will be the one embarrassed when you stand before Him at the Judgement.

Lu 9:26 For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

How do you know the bible is the word of god? Your faith is based in ignorance. :D

Jesus quite simply states that no one will see Heaven unless they are baptized and filled with his spirit, thus, requiring more than a prayer. I have layed the whole thing out in the post linked on my signature.

Tonuges are the physical evidence of the Holy Spirit.

Baptisim by the mere sprinkling of water is futile.

Without being filled with the Holy Spirit, then no, you will not get into Heaven. Many people choose not to believe when the fact remains that it is a command.

Pentecostals in the south who use rattlesnakes to demonstrate the power of Christ are forgetting the passage that simply states, "Do not tempt the Lord your God."

When it comes to the Lord, whether or not people choose to acknowledge it, he has but one path that leads to him. He also makes that quite clear.
