I had ADD when i was younger but i was far from energetic. basically i couldnt focus and it took me forever to get on track. trust me, theres a difference between kids being kids and kids who legitimately cant focus and have trouble learning. Yes, I found school boring sometimes, but that was later on in higher grades. In elementary, i was actually very interested in learning. however, i had trouble due to my ADD. Not sure if im explaining it right. If i say too much, it sounds like i didnt really have it. If i say too little, people will say im too vague. Its a lose/lose situation
i tried this once. i faked adhd...got an adhd script...unfortunately they gave me straterra. i guess you just gotta be lucky enough to get a doc that'll prescribe adderall. just look up the symptoms, go see a shrink, and fake it. maybe try to found out which docs in your area prefer prescribing adderall over ritalin and straterra without letting them know?
I understand what you're saying. I'm not saying that focus problems do not exist, but that they are not a disease. It is a part of human nature that probably stems from our hunter/gatherer phase. Constantly being aware of what is happening around us, noticing shiny objects or movement. When a kid cannot focus, it isn't an excuse to drug them to the point where they are completely passive. It is an excuse to work with that kid and discover how to keep their attention.
