I know it's easy to do a dxm extraction with delsym but would it work with dry cough pills? For example how could you extract dxm from this contac cough caplets? 1) 5mg Phenylephrine hydrochloride 500 mg acetaminophen 15 mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 2) 5mg Phenylephrine hydrochloride 500 mg acetaminophen 15 mg Dextromethorphan hydrobromide 2mg chlorpheniramine maleate 1 & 2 are the two types of caplets and under them are their contents. could anyone link me with a tutorial for extraction of this type of dxm?
There's too many other active ingredients in those pills. I don't think there is any safe way to remove them that wouldn't involve very careful fractional distillation i.e out of the scope of most people and way much too much effort. You want a formulation with only DXM as an active ingredient, and I don't think there are any "dry pills" that fit that criteria.
