i usually fill mine up with hotwater and some kind of soap and let it soak for a while

My bong is a smaller one. Not much taller than a soda can.
I wash mine in plain soap&water with a bottle brush once a week.
I also clean the stem with pipe cleaners and isoprophyl alcohol
one a week.

wow i could tell h orror stories about using paint thinner! You gotta be careful becuase sometimes that taste doesnt come out!

Its really simple. if your bong is made of glass you put a 1 oz shot of 99% isopropyl and a table spoon of salt into the bong cover all the holes and shake it. then rinse it out. repeat if necessary
