recently ive been reading into paganism and i just find it right it makes a lot of sense the right path. However how do i go about converting and practising the religon ?
As far as I know there is no religion called paganism. It is a gathering term for all things pagan. For example, native american's spiritual beliefs are technically pagan as well So, what kind of paganism are you into?
There you go! Research your celtic gods and worship as you wish. No fees or donations necessary, no paperwork, no formalities, just you and them, and, maybe, other people who share your belief. If you want. If not that's fine, you don't have to do shit with them if you don't want to. Ah, you're sixteen, I see... you're just a child, probably new to this all, still unconsciously slinging to old straight ideals, because that was all you knew... well, welcome to the Other Side... Welcome my brother No real rigidity here. You'll get the hang of it - it's different. Take everything you thought your knew about religion and throw it all away. Take anything you thought you knew about anything and throw it away. Blah blah blah here I go ranting again... feel free to PM me, or open a private message or whatever skip's calling it these days if you have any questions or want to talk. I'm here for you
^^^ This... You also don't really have to settle for one branch of paganism and not look into aspects of others. It's not that rigid... It can be quite informal actually. It's not a requirement but I recommend looking into your own genetic roots first and expand from there. There are books you can read, but you may not agree with everything that writer says... That's okay, use what you like and disregard that which you don't. Follow your own path.
Go with your Heart and your Conviction of Conscience will define the Faith you will be labelled with - Paganism covers a few factions of "Olde" faith - It is moreover your actions wiTch will give one solace I became comfortable with the 'Pagan' tag upon reflection of the way in which I had lived/live my life . It is Not a faith in which one should attempt others to convert to - for one of the basic principles is in an individuals freedom of choice Practising (i.e. methodology of ritual/rites) one can read up upon, and cater it to what one feels is right for the self - - ((one doesn't have to look to others/coven to embrace and attain fulfilment)) "Keep the Faith"
What do you mean exactly by "come into"? At a certain point celtic belief systems were supplanted by christian "invaders". Religions always influence each other, supplant each other. They built christian churches on top of destroyed temples of other religions.
Well, it's not like they wanted to steal those things. They generally rather installed christianity completely on their own terms In most cases it was kind of a compromis or just being pragmatic because if the christians didn't took over (some of) the pagan elements and traditions the commoners didn't want to convert. By the way, celtic christianity (or christianity among pagan celtics) seems to be one of the least forced upon the local people (I'm mostly thinking Ireland) as it was not installed by a king or the elite but by travelling monks who settled there even before most of north west Europe was christianized.
Makes my day, and when the pagan is obnoxious, the reason for the wallet in his back pocket is worked at to defend that he might have had no right to Exist. How does the money have right to exist there instead?
so you don't have to believe in jesus or god or any of that stuff you just have to believe in a god or goddess or both ?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celtic_polytheism Uhm, are you asking us what you have to believe or not? Why not just read a bit about it. I think there are many people that have pagan spiritual tendencies but don't literally believe in the existence of a celtic pantheon. Others might. You have to find out for yourself what you believe in.
You not only can but you should. However, slapping on the pagan label and start 'believing' in the celtic pantheon because you like celtic drinking songs about gods or because they appeal to your imagination seems not really believing.
