I'm a bit worried about going over the top here and putting in URL's to the book as I don't want to irk the Mod's. If any of this is outside the rulings then please remove it. I'll try to be as brief as I can. ME: I've been taking weed for 20-odd years, every day for the last 10. I have eaten and smoked far too much on occassion and have had my share of problems with tolerance and paranoia, which I have now overcome far more easily than you might think. I've been a meditator for nigh on 25 years and have been a Buddhist for 15, latterly practising a form called Dzogchen. Meditation and writing about it are pretty much all I do, as I ducked out of 'normal' life about 18 years ago to pursue this full time. The book has been in development for about 20 years. The Book's marketing blurb: 'How to be Good at Being Stoned' is a fascinating, easy-to-read guide to getting the best out of a Cannabis high. Whether you're a regular or occassional user of cannabis, this is a book you must read. Lower your tolerance, remove dope anxiety, and avoid the simple mistakes that can spoil many highs. For those who want to learn to actually explore the high and the edges of consciousness, this book is the first of its kind. Although Cannabis has been used for over 3,500 years to help promote altered states and experiences, until now there has been no literature that tells users how to explore it in this context. 'How to Be Good'' details a range of techniques and practises from the Eastern Traditions that will help prepare you and guide you towards deeper mental states - and also help you reach the best high you can, every time. The book looks at: *What to do and not to do on the way up to a high. * How to get rid of/avoid 'dope anxiety'. *Meditation. *Meditation techniques using sound, visualisations, etc. *Pressure points that can be used to gain natural highs. *A range of esoteric techniques and ideas to use in mental exploration. *Coping with a bad high. *Creating the best setting. *Deep relaxation methods. *Spontaneous Transcendental Experiences. ISBN 978-0-9553853-0-8 Mods, is the following okay?: www.myspace.com/marijuanameditation There are one or two posters who're saying that they're happy with their highs and I respect that, but, no matter how experienced you are I can guarantee that this book will help increse your enjoyment of the high - and show you how to explore it to your greater pleasure. awesome- i use cannabis for meditation occasionally. sounds like an awesome book. congratulations on getting it published
This is one of the reasons for the long delay (I actually finished the book and had it published about 8 months ago) in release. The publisher did a survey in the UK, asking if people would feel comfortable going into a bookshop to buy, or even having it on a bookshelf. Most seemed to feel that they wouldn't want to be seen buying it personally, and would prefer it to be available as a PDF instead of having it on show at home. The other issue is of course cost. The publishers are in the UK, and if they were to sell it to say, book shops in the USA it would put up costs by about £5+ a copy, even £8 through some dealers. Both factors mean that the book will be available only through the HeadstuffBooks.com website when it's done, and at present you can sign up to be kept informed of the release date at that address - I believe it's literally days away from being completely up and running. The site will also have free podcast 'lessons' (which will be updated regularly to help buyers), some free trippy wallpapers, and futher textual updates and special techniques not in the book. It's available both as an immediately downloadable PDF or print book (sent via airmail), with a special deal on buying the two. Both will of course be available worldwide. Did I forget to answer anything? MelT
Oh, I didn't realize this was an actual BOOK, I thought it was like a pamphlet, I may have to buy one that sounds cool, I'm looking at the myspace now. Pretty cool stuff!
As I said, they'll be available Worldwide from the website, either as a PDF or a print copy. No restrictions on where you're from. You order through PayPal and you get it shipped to you, anywhere. MelT
Sounds fuckin a, bro, I would love one, meditating when I am high has got to be the best thing, and I would like to critique it w/o having to read something written by a 50 year old cenile woman that loves sitting on pillows.
LOL. We are separated at birth. There's too much New Age stuff muddying the waters here. Normal, rational, say what it is stuff. I don't want to hear the words of a 'channeled' NA Indian to tell me what to do to meditate and get high. I really hope that anyone who reads my book will find it crap free - if it sounds like it's written by some loved-up 50 year old woman, kill me. Hypothetically speaking, if you could atually explore a high, what are you all loooking for? Experiences? Enlightenment? Fun? MelT
Depends on the setting, if I am with friends, I am definatly looking for experiences and fun. If by myself enlightment is the best way to go. And don't worry, if your book looks like it was written by a 50 year old woman, expect some anthrax in the mail
im interested with the " Meditation techniques using sound and visualizations, and Deep relaxation methods"...im still confused on how we can get it free?
beign high is a second nature 2 me. Two years ago my mom was able to tell about every time i was high around her, havent been asked in almost a year. i can act just as normal stoned even at school i feel the same
It's a small competition. The names of everyone who's interested goes into a draw, then my wife will pick two names at random in a few days time. 2 copies are up for grabs. MelT
