I find it goes in phases. Sometimes it's twice a day, sometimes it's twice a week. It depends on some kind of internal chemical rhythm I think, as I can go for a week or more without masturbating at all, and then only manage perhaps once every couple of days or so. Then things change and I find I'm managing twice or even three times some days. That seems to go on for around a month or so, then all of a sudden I lose interest again and I'm back to doing it once or twice a week, if that.

I put it down to old age as well, and I find that although I suffer from two different medical conditions (Polymyalgia Rheumatica, and prostate problems) for which I take the drugs Prednisolone and Tamsulosin respectively, the amount of ejaculant is diminishing as well. A few years ago I could manage perhaps a dessert spoon full or more, but now it's down to less than a small teaspoon's worth, so I guess my ability to produce semen is declining. Oh, and twelve years ago I had the snip, so any actual sperms stay in my scrotum and only the semen the prostate produces is what's ejaculated. Also, a goodly amount goes up into my bladder due to the Tamsulosin, instead of exiting downwards and out. It's called 'retrograde ejaculation', and apparently it's a known side effect of taking Tamsulosin, so I'm probably not alone in experiencing this.

One other thing I've found lately is that the actual orgasm is becoming erratic, almost non-existent sometimes, yet other times, particularly if it's the second time that morning, it can be really really intense. The price I pay for this is that if I do it more than once per day then it gets very hard to pee, and quite painful sometimes too. It's as though the act of ejaculation does something to the tubes so that they don't open properly when I subsequently want to pee. Such is life though, and we struggle on as best we can.
