I bought a couple from this wonderful company, www.lrosedesigns.com I really like the cinnamon tone velvet they have. and for something handmade, it wasnt too expensive, my velvet swimsuit with a lace up back and breifs cost about $30 plus shipping. (for a choli bra-$18, and performance briefs-$10 can be used as a swimsuit)

If it fits good then go for it. But actually for the past 2 years I have made my own bathing suits. Jo-Anns has some great dance/swim fabrics. It works very well too because you can design it for your own body type and what your comfortable wearing. I will post pictures as soon as i get my digi working again. Its not to expensive either since you only need 1.5 -2 yds of fabric.

i've paid like 60 bucks for a bathing suit. the best suit i have though is from tj max and it was about 25 bucks. if you like your bathing suit though, wear it with pride! it's your money; do what you will with it! as long as your happy with your purchase, you aren't hurting anyone.

damn me.. last night i ordered one for $63 but it was originally $85... and it's really awesome, (crossing fingers that it fits...), but that's the most i've ever spent, i'm very fond of target and old navy for swimsuits... and at the end of the summer, going to belks and j.c. penney when they're having summer sales... i have tons of swimsuits just due to that..(and because i'm a complete pack rat and refuse to throw anythign away...)

i love the way board shorts and a bikini top look together... kinda sporty, yet still girly... it sucks though, cause i have a stomach, so i cant really wear bikini tops without looking humongo... would a tankini top and board shorts look okay? or too... covered up? what do you guys think?

I would never, but I also know I've spend large amounts of money on shit that some people thought I was nuts for too. You swim alot, so being comfortable for those large amounts of time are important, so if you have it and it's worth it to you then the rest doesn't matter. As for quality because it comes from an expensive store, thats kinda bullshit IMHO and from my past experiences. I've had nice, expensive stuff from places like that that didn't stand up to the use I put then through. The fabric either pilled badly or the bottom fabric kinda shredded. Any more, just because you buy it at a high end store is no garauntee. Known labels for quality or knowing what to look for in a well made suit is your best bet. Durable fabrics? great seams? you get the idea.
