Being a fan of Real Ale (I don't drink Whisky/Gin/Rum or spirits of any kind) I thought I would ask the lead question in this forum.
Living here in the UK a Pint of Real Ale in a Pub or Bar is usually anything from £3 to £5 depending on were one is in the country.
The same for a 500m bottle of bitter beer or lager type beer.whatever.
Were I live in Rhos On Sea North Wales a pint of beer is usually around between £3 to £4 and a 500ml bottle about the same

One of the things I like about this forum is that there are people posting from America/Australia and possibly other countries.

So can you please tell tell me roughly how much a pint/500ml of beer is in your neck of the woods?

UK people are also welcome to say what the situation is were you live of course..

    For instance.
I understand that in London a pint of beer can reach £10 or more.
    Ouch! :grinning:

It all depends how much the pub you are at sells it.
For example you might want to look at the pub's website you are going to so that you know how much in advance you might need.

I'm in the US, but the cost of living can vary from region to region.

But where I am, for commercial domestics (budweiser, miller lite, etc) it's usually like $3.
Mass produced imports like Stella Artois, Guinness, etc are usually around $5
And then craft beer can go anywhere from $5 - $10 depending on the brewery

Converted to petrodollar... Anywhere between 5-12 bucks, depending on where you buy.

Thank God I don't drink. Just now it really hit me how much money I've saved.

they don't really sell by the pint here. locally, i can generally get a 12 oz bottle for $1.50 to $2.25, outside of happy hours and the like. or, a pitcher (about 60 oz, i think?) is around $6.

but you have to keep in mind that i live in a shithole. go 50 miles in any direction and you're spending $5 on a 12 oz beer. it's literally the only good thing about living here.

One thing I liked about America was the free refill on soda.

Well... I didn't like it... But my wife did.
I don't remember buying a soda at the bar. :p

Thank you for your replies people.
As far as I can gather there is not a great deal of difference in the price of beer for different countries.
Going to Spain and places like that was a bit cheaper than the UK.
Turkey and Bulgaria I found was the very cheapest, with 16US fluid ounces costing around £2 in a bar, which I think is around 1$ 85cents.
    Talking about cost.
Thank goodness I have never smoked, so I have both saved my health and my pocket avoiding that filthy habit!

    As I have mentioned fags.
Perhaps add how much 20 cigarettes are in your neck of the woods?

One cannot bum a fag off someone who doesn't smoke.
I could happily buy you a beer though. :grinning:

'Fraid you can't bum a ride off me Luv.
    I can't drive!
I took 3 driving tests and failed all three.
I don't think I have either the confidence or the patience or the concentration to drive on todays roads.
There are far too many thoughtless maniacs behind the driving wheel nowadays!:worried:
