i bet anything that several, if not most of those people also tested positive for alcohol, which is more likely to be the actual motivator for the poor driving. plus, they don't specify whether the person was willfully driving crazy, or just couldn't handle the vehicle. in other words, someone could be road raging and get a reckless driving charge, not because they were incapable of controlling the vehicle. cops will try to pin reckless driving on anything these days, ive been accused of reckless driving for rolling through a stop sign, which is obviously failure to obey a traffic control device not fucking reckless driving. reckless driving could literally mean almost anything that a cop pulls you over for im a much better driver when high. mainly because sober i go fucking crazy and road rage on dumbass drivers. i also hate driving slow and usually do at least 5-10mph over the limit on city roads, and much more on the highway. but when im high i just really dont give a fuck about idiot drivers, i find it more amusing than angering. so i dont road rage. and like someone else said it feels like your going much faster when high, so i pretty much always go the speed limit, if not under in some situations. plus with the whole paranoia factor, i worry about getting hurt in an accident more (not just worry about cops) so i tend to give other drivers more space, have more patience, and just in general drive safer
if im really really high im definitely a worse driver than if im just pretty drunk cannabis makes me have add and its harder to concentrate, ill just blow by stop signs like a dumbass if im drunk im driving a lot more carefully
I noticed sometimes when I'm high and driving on surface streets i'll be going 30 in a 40 or something which is very uncharacteristic of my driving.
