As do I, and I usually agree with you Bill, but I fail to see how contributing to childrens health care should be viewed in a negative light, and this comes from someone who insures their child without government assistance and smokes a pack of Newport 100's a day...
politics schmolitics. how could you bring that up at a time like this! :svengo: ECLAIR!!!!! C H O C O L A T E!!!! :drool5:
im a constitutionalist and a libertarian relayer. i also believe in personal responsibility. i believe you and you alone should be responsible for every aspect of raising your child. if you cant afford that responsibility, i and the rest of the taxpayers of this nation should not be obligated to pick up your slack.. cant afford a kid, dont have one..
I understand that, of course there are way too many children being born for all the wrong reasons. Come on, I lived in both North and South Philadelphia. But these are children man, they did not ask to be born.
hmmm... your response makes me wonder what stars crossed to prevent SOMEBODY from accepting SOMEBODY ELSE'S friendship request.
i did.. its always nice to see you use your brain,, its not often that i see it.. should do it more often,ya have a good one..
Really it's none of my business and I think no less of you for your opinion friend. I've known you long enough to respect you and have learned much from you. I just cant help but feel that any child, no matter to whom they are born, has more life value than my own, and contributing to health care is the least I can do.
it had nothing with that, and all to do with the idea that you can tax your way to a better living standard. you can't.
I'll add my opinion to the mix.. The way I see it is that parents shouldn't feel entitled to receive assistance of any kind and would be well served to withhold any such expectations when planning their families. However, if we all lived according to shoulds and if all children born were actually a result of planning then most of societal problems we face today would be nonexistent. But I also feel that living a life of apathy and separation, the "it's not my problem" philosophy, is what has contributed to the massive suffering that we see on the planet today. As far as I'm concerned we're all in it together and empathy and compassion are sorely needed in the world. If we don't join together and help take care of one another then we as a species will become extinct.
