I wish I could smoke tonight... instead people are coming over to drink. And I shall have like one beer and wish it was a joint. :(

I could post tons of studies, i don't really see the point, it is something the individual can study for themselves if they are interested enough.

Personally as far as the science goes for any study im sure i could find another one to contradict it. This does mean that my opinion about pot might not be entirely fact in the sense that it isn't proven %100 beyond a doubt. Having said that i was giving my opinion/advice on the subject that i truely believe. Combining what i have read over the years, with my own personal experiances and the experiances of people around me, friend or otherwise has lead me to my opinion.

Now if some one wants to contest that, then they're going to have to say more then "bullshit" if they want a more serious discussion from me then "check the science".

I always swore in high school I'd never touch weed, mainly because all the tokers I knew were stereotypical potheads and did some stupid stuff while stoned, but when I graduated, I decided life's too short to close your mind to certain things. I smoked the first time when I was 18, but I think I was 19 the first time I got high. Then, I spent the better part of a year stoned off my ass and after an annoying withdrawal, decided moderation is the best idea ever. Haha.

i just rather people cite it in the first place if they are going to use a basis of scientific knowledge to make claims

Why? there are many studies out there that state that a 14 year olds brain is more likely to incur damage then a 21 year old from smoking pot. Why do you need a specific one? If you really want i can go through my old National Geographics, New internationalist, newspapers etc. to find the exact articles to cite but personally if some one is that interested i think they should do the leg work.

It really isn't as easy to find these articles because not all my knowledge comes from the internet so it isn't a matter of cut and paste, all though all anyone need do is google the subject to get a basic understanding, it doesn't seem any more of waste of time then pasting the same articles here...

i'm not interested...thats the point...your basis that your knowledge is coming from a scientific realm is not present, so why should i listen to you or believe anything you say minus anecdotal evidence. its not on me to find research backing up any stance, because i've already pointed out that i hold no stance on this subject.

sure, it may be common sense, but it falls on deaf ears if you can't back up what you say. i could care less about this subject to be honest, and i do agree with you that a 14 year old is more likely to incur damage. but i'm not the one here saying i've learned that from science as you have. and i can easily search for studies, but i'd want to read the specific studies you are using as a basis of your knowledge so i know where you are coming from - that is if i actually gave 2 shits about this.

in all reality, i was speaking in more general terms, rather than this specific knowledge of damage due to smoking pot to the brain.

the brain is still developing in your teen years. as is your liver, among other organs.

then again, i started smoking and drinking at 13 so i cant really talk...

sometimes i think about what i'd be like if i'd never gotten high. i do think it's affected my cognitive abilities, but theres really no way to know for certain. i was high pretty much every day for almost 3 years, it must have had some kind of negative affect on me.

Well as far as the liver thing goes, i did also mention i don't think 14 year olds should be drinking either. it isn't a judgement call, hell i started smoking at 14 and drinking at 15, my post was just meant be honest advice from someone who has had a little experiance with the subject, not that i am a psychologist, psychiatrist or any other kind of potential expert.

i mean really though, there are so many things in the world that pollute our bodies anyway. poisoned air, chemicals in food (a lot of chemicals in fast food are used for things like sunscreen, etc), unnecessary medications and vaccinations with horrible side effects (like possibly autism)...smoking a little weed is really not such a horrible thing. drinking is a bit worse, but in moderation its not a big deal.
