I strongly disagree.

I think that using any such substance at 14 is completely ridiculous, irresponsible, and plain stupid.

No matter how smart of a 14 year old you are.

 

Ha. Pot works too well for me as well. I can smoke two bowls and just be completely happy and content with everything. It was more of a motivator and something fun to do when there was nothing else to do, but smoking every day I lose interest in a week or two and will just stop for awhile so my tolerance goes away and I can enjoy myself again. Long sentence.

I enjoy it over alcohol though, because alcohol generally tastes horrible (talking hard alcohol here), and creates hangovers. No matter how small the hangover, it's still there and uncomfortable. In fact, weed is the best medicine for hangovers =)

Well- despite my opinion that there are far better things for 14 year olds to do than smoke pot, I must digress because I've made enough stupid-ass decisions through my teens, 20's, 30's, and counting that I must disqualify myself from determining what's best for a particular age group.

Luckily I was busted by my parents the second time I smoked at age 12, and then I didn't smoke again for 4 more years

i've been stoned many of times...i've done many stupid things while stoned. i choose not to smoke right now, for a few different reasons, but someday, after season is over i'm gonna get so goddamn stoned and be a huge fat kid

 

Perhaps... but the people I can respect more are the ones who've made bad choices and have gained perspective from weathering the results.

Youth doesn't necessarily equate with ignorance. Someone who has made "all the right choices" tends to lack perspective and compassion from my observation. Life experience makes me reluctant to just tell someone outright they shouldn't do something... especially considering that such advice will likely result in the opposite action. Prohibition rarely has its intended effect... more realistic, responsible attitudes will likely result in better mindsets from which better decisions result.

 

No, i'm giving advice based on my life experiances and scientific knowledge that i have gathered over the years. Now if i had said "all people who smoke pot at 14 are evil people" then i'd be making a judgement. I don't think it is safe/healthy for a 14 year old to partake in taking any drugs (including alcohol and cigarettes) and i stand by that. I don't care if it offends any drug users/dealers, it's not my problem.
