i don't have any i would love to have dreads but idk how i'd look or feel about not washing my hair..
i counted 29 while reading the thread, ranging from itty-bitty (1/8th inch ish) to about an inch ish. There is quite a bit of hair behind my ears and along the bottem of my neck that is not locked up yet so i am sure i will end up with many more.
idk. i asked some people i knew about their dreads and everyone told me the same thing, that the only way to get them to stay is to not wash your hair very often.
no ones hair dreads the same, you just have to commit to starting the journey, and see it through til the end the best way you find fit, you will discover your own techniques... honestly the rest will take care of itself
I'd say I have between 70-75 dreads of all various shapes and sizes. When my hair was finished being backcombed I had 83, but some have joined together
i don't know why they said that, i have had my dreads for almost 5 months, i wash my hair every other day. when you first put them in it's good to wait a week so they can get settled in. not washing your hair for a week in the beginning might sound harsh, but it's not as bad as one might think. it's not like if you want dreads you can never wash your hair again. in fact clean hair dreads faster and better.
Wow....I just counted 38....I didnt think I had that many! My dreads are def not evenly spread out over my head though.
I have 40 lovely locks...and 6 months old. I love every one of 'em especially the thicker soft spongy ones in the back!
you wash dreads as often as you need to. I do wash them less then I did my regular hair (twice a week as opposed to everyday), but that's because they don't need to be washed more often then that. Dreads are dreads... they don't just come undone when they're washed... lol. If they come undone that easily then they aren't dreads.
