It does appear as I get older that my eyesight is getting worse, looks like I am going to need glasses. I had an eye appointment and they did an exam and said I have scarring from the sun. Everything is getting blurrier in the distance and it seems it gets worse daily.

    How is your eyesight?

I need glasses for closeup stuff and small print, wasn't like that 20 some odd years ago. Have to use reading glasses now. Eye doctors and fancy glasses are not in the budget.

I have terrible eyesight. I am probably legally blind without contacts or glasses. I have really bad astigmatism. The contacts I wear cost about $200 for only a 6-month supply as they need to be custom made. I blame my poor eyesight on the fact that I ever wore glasses to begin with. If you have slightly bad vision to begin with, glasses only make it that much worse. There are actually ways to improve vision naturally, without glasses, but once you start wearing glasses you pretty much ruin your eyes for good.

Apparently my eyesight is pretty bad. About 4 years ago I was driving and thought to myself that the street signs looked pretty blurry and realised that I couldn't even read street names until I was driving past them. I got my eyes tested and got glasses. The day I got my glasses I remember putting them on in the shop and going...HOLY SHIT!

I've had both corneas transplanted. Vision with me at times is often a struggle.

i used to have 20/20 vision in high school, but some time in college i started to have a hard time reading notes on the board. and just like you said, i can't read street signs without my glasses until i am about to pass them. but my eyesight isn't TOO bad..my prescription is not that strong. i only wear glasses when i am driving, watching tv or a movie, or when i am sitting at a science presentation of some type. otherwise, i usually do not wear them.
    since...

i kinda suspected that this would happen. it seems that everyone i know that has glasses, their prescription gets worse and worse over time.

except my brother. he got laser eye surgery

Children and adults may be different but wearing glasses while awake for a year or so can improve to only having to wear them for close work. That's what happened with my granddaughter.

My husband's prescription glasses broke and he couldn't afford to go for new ones so he stopped wearing them except for drugstore glasses for close work. He thinks his eyesight improved.

I have astigmatism. I've tried the astigmatism contact lenses and could never see well enough out of them. I wear glasses and feel pretty blind without them.

    With contact lens – Perfect

……. And Pressed Rat $200.00 dollars for a 6 months’ supply of contact lens, that crazy; my contacts cost $70 for a six months supply.

I wear bifocal contacts. I read with my right eye and do distance with my left. I do have glasses for the few times I am not able to wear contacts but I hate wearing them as they are not comfortable, no matter what frame I have.

I take my contacts out last thing at night and put them in as soon as my eyes are open in the morning. So....poor vision.

I dont think I have 20/20 vision anymore but I don't really need glasses either. I have trouble reading signs when just a couple of years ago I could read them at the same distance no problem, but its not bad enough to interfere with driving or anything.

I can tell reading at night with just a dim lamp and also using my smart phone both effect my vision and strain my eyes. If I dont read in bed or use my phone much for a couple of days my vision improves a bit.

I've also has cornea surgery. Old ones out, donors in. Though I have difficulty seeing, the surgery wasn't to correct my vision to the point of no correction, it was only meant to correct my vision to the point where correction could correct it. So far I've been a few years without it. I need glasses sometimes but also after the surgery I have been left with light sensitive eyes that make it hard to wear glasses out in the day. During the night I have halo, star burst and light flare problems that make it very difficult to drive especially when the roads are crowded. I literally see a sea of colors, quite beautiful but very distracting.
