Election day is November 8th, just 2 1/2 months away. We know that whatever the outcome, a lot of elections will be challenged, citing voter fraud. I wonder how bad it will be. I also wonder will there actually be massive voter fraud this time, most likely perpetrated by the extreme right. A lot of the midterm Republican candidates are election deniers who might overturn election results, as Mike Pence refused to do. This could be the only chance Trump has of being re-elected, if in fact he's allowed to run. He once said, "The only way we could lose is if the election is rigged." Now the only way he could win in 2024 is if the election is rigged, he's no longer electable. And I'm concerned that's going to happen. Imagine Trump getting the White House back after a rigged election. There will be fighting in the streets.
Gawd I hope the GOP gets clobbered in this election, as well as the next. It would reaffirm my faith in the common sense of the average American.
I assume you mean candidates Trump has endorsed. That might work in blue states but in red states those Republicans might very well win their elections, giving them election deniers who will flip the results of the election in favor of the GOP. There are purple states where the Dems could win in 2024 in a close race, but then have it taken from them. Sadly, with all the damage Trump has done to America he still has control of the Republican party. His base has shrunk but those still in it remain loyal and dangerous. They believe this man who told over 30,000 lies while President speaks the truth. And he will continue to do damage as long as he lives. The best we can do is continue to discredit him and hope the MAGA crowd finally gives up.
The momentum is currenty with the Democrats, hopefully it will continue to rise over the next two months! From a Republican 'tsunami' to a 'puddle': Why the forecast for November is changing | CNN Politics
Sarah Palin is running once more against Mary Peltola in the midterm elections, just over 2 months after losing to her in the special election. There's some insanity!
I'll be staying home and probably guarding my shit. There's been a lot of crazy shit going on, even in the neighborhood. One guy pounded on a neighbor's door (they had been playing loud bass all night/day) and used the n-word and as he left, yelled, "WHITE POWER".. A while later, I heard gun shots. I got into a near fight with the racist myself but besides yelling, threats, etc., there were no punches thrown. Not that I anticipate crazy shit from happening, but realizing it is a possibility. Especially copy-cats, swarming theory, whatever you wanna call it.
The midterms are now 1 1/2 months away and the campaign ads I keep seeing are the most negative ever, on both sides. It seems whoever wins will be whoever is the least discredited.
I never hear policy. I only hear about how the other side is an existential threat to the existence of the country.... This country is finished. I try to talk from people all over the world -- and no one has hope for the future. Much different than say, 1960, or even 2008 (regardless of how short-lived it was).
Yes, sadly if you want to get elected anymore, you must fight dirty. The GOP has long deployed this strategy to their advantage. In 2016 Hillary Clinton said of her campaign, "When they go low we go high!", and of course it didn't work and we spent four years with Trump as President. The Dems have finally learned and now they're hitting back low and dirty. But of course they have a lot of material to work with.
