I think we have some of those too. My garden this year is a surprise. Lota of stuff coming up now, but no idea what the previous owners planted.

You will have to give it a couple of years to figure out what's actually there. Some things that may appear to be weeds may not actually be weeds if the previous owner used any type of wildflowers or ornamental grasses.

Meliai: "Then i want to do some ornamentals" Marigolds are supposed to keep bugs away from your tomatoes. Nasturtiums ares said to keep away cucumber beetles.

I haven't lived anywhere I could grow a garden -- not enough sunshine. This year I have two large containers. One for tomatoes and the other for cucumbers. I plan to brine ferment the cucumbers because I like the taste and the probiotics. Wish I had room for cabbage to make sauerkraut.

We need to get the new sheet on the tunnel. Garden is 80% dug over. Courgettes, runner beans and cucumbers have been started in their pots. I'm really looking forward to having rocket and other leaves growing.

First frost free day where I live is May 10. That means it has never frosted here after May 10. I wait until then to put out temperature sensitive plants.

Dug out the 2017 compost heap. Earth is fucking beautiful. Also I found a missing kitchen knife and a favourite teaspoon I didn't even realise was lost.

Ferns are awesome. You might want to put them under some green shade cloth so they don't burn their leaves when in the sun

Here in Seattle fungi grow on hillsides, and the slime mold oozes down towards the docks where the tourists hang out.

If I'm not mistaken, yellow zucchini would be what we refer to as squash here
