I'm in California and it rarely rains here. So when it rains I guess I'm thankful that it's raining. But it's also inconvenient in some ways. It makes driving a little sketchier too. All in all though, I don't mind the rain. emotionally, if I go there... my feelings are nostalgic. I can remember memorable times that it rained. It rained on Halloween a few years in a row one time. The first time I did LSD it rained, so I remember that too. I remember this one time when it really rained hard; the first El Nino~ during my life, which would have been like 1990 or 1991 or somewhere around there. We rode our bikes through some pretty deep water! I remember going to this one girl's house who I liked for no good reason. Don't ask me what I was thinking, but we did. She let us inside. This must have been arranged by phone beforehand because otherwise I think it would've been terribly rude. But anyway. I remember all these times it has rained, and sometimes when it gets to raining and I'm not distracted I take a walk down memory lane.
Reminds me of a guy who said we all overreacted when we had an earthquake near dc. I Pointed out how LA goes crazy if there is more than an inch of rain. He got all defensive pointing out all the obvious reasons why it's a big deal. Somehow though he failed to realize that buildings on the east coast aren't built with earthquakes in mind.
When it rains in Phoenix there are so many car accidents one of the local radio guys started calling rain a liquid lobotomy... lol
i understand that rain is needed to sustain life and all, but sometimes i have to wonder if life is really worth all that. i don't really mind it if it doesn't inconvenience me, but that's pretty much never the case. it only seems to rain when i have a work event outside, or i'm actually off work and trying to go to the beach, or i'm driving on a really hot day and i need to open my windows but don't want to soak the inside of my car.
Finally Got Some Rain Here Last Night.....8mm...32pts.....July Was The 2nd Driest On Record..... Sat Out On My Veranda Way Past Midnight With Copious Amounts Of Wine.......Feeling A Bit Under The Weather This Morning...... Cheers Glen.
i cut the grass maybe 3 times so far this year...not much rain even the fuddyduddy people who fuss over their lawns have brown yards this year downside is the amount of forest fires currently out of control
I love the way the earth smells after a thunderstorm, all those positive ions bombarding your senses.A commercial fisherman for 30 +years,I worked a many a day in the rain.I always found myself singing,Raindrops are falling on my head, but that don't mean my eyes will soon be turning red, crying's not for me no,those ole raindrops are falling,on my head they keep falling, because I'm free, nothing's worring me.
