Once you have grown the poppies can someone tell me what the process is for drying the pods to a perfect dried pod like the ones you find online? I have grown before and tried to dry them by hanging upside down however even after a week there was water in the pods so I split them open and ended up with dried pods after 2-3 weeks later. I have always chopped the plant down 2-3 weeks after the petals have fallen. Also before collecting pods to dry out (to use for tea) do you use a blade to milk them, or to speed up the drying process, for example when I used to buy the big pods I could see the dry opium on the sides but this could be from cracks.
