    *waltzes around all impishly*

I'm trying to eat my sandwich, but I cannot finish it. There is at least 5 or 6 good bites, but I just can't. *shakes head from side to side* Urgha.

First off, I need lots of sleep. Like 9 or 10 hours. I don't like a lot of noise. I wear shorts and a top or just a top and undies. Sometimes I stick my feet out of the blankets 'cause they get hot, but I can't have all of me out at night because I get chilly. I sleep in all positions. I try to stay on my back because that's healthier than lying on your stomach, but I usually end up rolling over onto it or my side. I like the fan going in the summer and the winter because even when it's not hot I like to have some air flowing so it doesn't get stuffy. If I can't breathe I can't sleep.
I have crazy dreams and I don't always remember them. It's a hobby for me though, and when I want to remember them I can, and when I want to be lucid and explore my dream world, I can usually do that too. I take b6 and melatonin for vivid dreams. It works, haha. :)
Penny, I'm like you. I have to be yawning and basically falling asleep before I can even think about getting into bed. And I have to watch a couple hours of TV because that's usually the only thing that can hypnotize me into a sleep state. I might even nap for awhile in front of the tube before getting into my actual bed.
    I love sleeping. :)

 well i can and have for years. life is better though. dreams are just a dream. when you wake up it's all over and the real world is still here. to me it's like taking a drug. it's just a little fun for a short time. i would never want or need to replace life with it.

but to the part i bolded, why do you say that?

why do I say that? WHY?

ws. man. this place sucks. I appreciate what it all is. I appreciate where mankind is. I don't buy into silly science, those things in the paper don't have much to do with my life. The fight of ideology vs nation states and all that. great. its incredible. its a part of history that most people don't realize is happening. but in three hundred years we'll look back and say ... right there in the first decade of 2000 it happened, a shift in history. Great. wonderful. exciting. but not my cup of tea. for my money I want real change. The change that means something to man because it is of man. OF man. not TO man. OF man. TO man means evolution. a process that changes us from the outside with no input of ours. I want OF man. Like the shift from aristotle to descartes. from descartes to nietzsche? Fuck that. No chance. Wittgenstein says its all over? I don't buy it. Either way, why so few? Why such a distance between people that are OF man that can change man? Fear? Laziness? Are we all just glorified chimps? I don't know. Do you?

I'll tell you one thing. If I could lucid dream I would never wake up.

I feel you WL. I ask myself those same questions every day and I don't have any answers. But you're acting like lucid dreaming is some great power, like you can live another life in your dream. At least I can't. I'm actually not very good at it. I just have a little fun and then it's over. I guess I would be lying though if I said it wasn't a bit of an escape for me.
On the other hand, have you ever tried to lucid dream? You should go to this site and read the whole tutorial, it's really good: www.dreamviews.com
And really WANT to do it. If you follow the instructions with real intentions, there should be nothing stopping you.

    Its a nice thought.

heres me .... come to an internet forum .... have someone point out a website with a personal testimonial saying its really just that easy. all it takes is practice. Just make yourself really WANT it.

when in reality a website like dreamviews says absolutely nothing about what makes a lucid dreamer lucid. Tricks and fads. No. They aren't reality.

    Actually...you're false.

I go to sleep with the intent to beware of my dreams, and control them,
and I do. I wake up from the most amazing experiences all the time.

There's a dream yoga, it's ancient, did you know that?
    Try it...you strange little human.

    he's right, WL.

You must not have read all the tutorial, because dreamviews shows many ways to become lucid in your dreams. That's why I sent you there, so you could learn the technique. Like stalk said, because you're not willing to try is why you you're not able to do it.

What's this about western society being at a standstill? Because of dreaming? I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.

You're right on about one thing. I did not read the whole tutorial. but I am glad they have six easy steps to overcoming biologly. as it stands, the world is biological, not mystical.

western society? No. Western CIVILISATION. that is what is at a standstill. because of lucid dreams? No. But because people are more apt to provide a link to a bullshit website .... that makes money ..... than they are to provide insight. and that is just the beginning. or should I say the result. maybe not result but at least somewhere in between which is actually, come to think of it, utterly meaningless.
