i would say that you need to go find a greenhouse or farm you could work at. they'll hire you for minimum wage, probably under the table. it's not a job you need to be reliable for. so show up every day until you've got 200 bucks. then quit.
20 miles isnt that far.....drumminmama has a point. you could just ride a bike there if you can get your hands on one. that would be the easiest way.
When I was younger I hitchhiked all over the US and Canada and with only a couple of dollars in my pocket. Hitchhiking would get you there.
That's probably true, it’s been over twenty years since I last went hitchhiking but I did meet a lot of interesting people. Then again, if it’s only twenty miles you could walk it. Just trying to think of ways to get you to the commune without the two hundred dollars being a problem.
The town where she could work is 20 miles away, not the commune. Yeah she could walk that, but every morning and every evening? That's gonna break you up, man. And if it's 200 bucks to get there by bus, the commune is probably much further.
Well, not to be a dick... but I doubt there are NO JOBS in her area. There may not be any jobs she's excited about or whatever but sometimes in life you have to make sacrificies. If she can't work out a ride share or borrow a car that's on her. Walking 40 miles everyday definitely blows and not something I would want to do for sure, but it doesn't sound like she has, or is willing to consider other options?
Maybe. I have no idea where and how she lives. For all we know she's a recluse deep in the forest or something. And yes, sacrifices must sometimes be made, but I would consider all pleasant options before trying out the less pleasant stuff too. I can understand if she asks for tips on nice things that she could do to get the money before deciding to apply for something she really hates or goes against her principles.
Hehe I found a way to make the two hundred.... I put a couple of my intruments on consignment at the music shop in town and now all I have to do is wait for them to sell. I also took some cans to the recycling shack... Thanks for all the suggestions everyone.
