I see the badge of honor bit...I guess. But isn't one of the points to doing without shoes doing without constraints? Isn't creating a desired result, black soles, a constraint? I'm curious what barefooters think when they notice (and some on here sound like they actively look) others soles. Do you judge the soul by the sole? Do you try not to but just notice so much that it is hard not to? (It is a badge of belonging, we are wired to take note.) FWIW, when I'm out and about and the soles get grungy (I prefer not being on pavements of any type, but yards, parks, greenbelts) I kind of like putting them back to clean. I have to for my home. It's barefoot land and one reason among many is to have a physically and mentally clean space. Me tromping through and leaving leaf litter and forest duff all over the place defeats my purpose.
Indeed, and I wondered this for a while when I joined this forum and read comments and posts. Yet I have since understood that there are other aspects and reasons why people go without shoes. Previously I had not ever considered them. For example some just like getting dirty feet, others have a fetish. For me it's part of a minimalist lifestyle. Shoes are something I only consider as tools and most of the time not necessary. For that reason dirty feet is something incidental and not something I check or have a fascination with Shayla x
Dirty black soles is what I want every time I am out in bare feet. I get the most looks this way from people. Especially like turning my head to the side and seeing them staring down at the bottoms of my feet and like it even more when I can turn my head right around and backwards and see them with their eyes on my feet. When I am in eating establishments, I always make sure as many people as possible can see my black soles by sitting with my feet slid back on the floor and up on the toes with as many people as possible in seats behind me.
this has always been me too. but then i got a plantars wart on the bottom of one foot, and i've been watching that thing like a hawk as i try to get rid of it.
I had a plantar wart /verruca back in February. Treated it myself with cider vinegar. Went in just over a week! Dont be fobbed of by fancy stuff from the chemist and certainly don't use acid based creams.
I soaked a little ball of cotton wool in apple cider vinegar and taped it over the wart overnight. In the morning remove it anđ let it dry out.repeat for a couple of nights and when you remove the plaster the cotton wool should be black. Continue for the next couple of days and the wart will work itself kut. Depending on your attitude to risk you may want to cover the open wound until healed. I didn't bother. I remained barefoot throughout. It worked for me hope it works for you! Let me know how you get on. All the best.
I used to obsess about getting my feet as black as poss, and would go out of my way to find car parks etc that I could rub them in. However, it's now "been there, done that", and I'm happy just being barefoot. If they get dirty in the natural course of events so much the better, but I no longer make a thing about it.
I must admit that I don't care about my soles that much. The more tough they got during this summer the less dirt stains under them.
