Well, in a certain california city, with most of the returns in, 80% of the voters voted in favor of If a city like that can send an 80% message, there might be hope. :sunny:
So it's a good thing people unite against corporations having those rights, right! I'm not sure how hopeful that is exactly, call me naive but isn't this what we should expect from your fellow citizens..
Citizens United is a con. What do you expect from Michele Bachmann, Mike Huckabee and Rick Santorum? A con is a con.
Citizens United is just another move- a big one in making sure money controls politics even more than it did before. Pretty much ensures that if you're not a corporation you do not have a voice.
I hope not. And speaking of "corporations are people too"... I have that clip with plutocrat Mitt stuck in my head not....
I feel it is one of many cases that have elevated the illegitimate, unconstitutional, non-living corporate-person over flesh and blood person-persons as originally intended by our infallible founding fathers. As a result of cases like citizens united, constitutional protections and rights originally afforded flesh and blood person-persons are also afforded corporate-persons; as a result, the corporate-person ends up getting all political representation while the person-person gets what's good for the corporate-person. To me, the obvious and inevitable outcome is that the corporate-person has trumped the person-person.
Yes but our opposition never rests. Believe it or not, the spin-masters are at it again. They've created an organization named... ...you guessed it... Citizens United (grooming the populous) Maybe it's just me but does anyone else smell a rat?
