I enjoy walking barefoot, but I have gout. After walking for a little bit barefoot on dirt or pavement the gout kicks in. I have no idea why. I can walk for miles and miles, and no problem. But if I walk barefoot, different story. What can I do about this?
that's probably because when barefoot your feet's joint are allowed wider movements thus entering the "pain zone". i'd say this in the long term could bring some improvements for the motility of your big toes if you don't overdo it... but since im no doc my opinions dont come with a warranty.
Yes There Is, It's As Simple As 1..2..3. (1)......Visit Your Doctor.... (2)......Get Treatment For Your Gout.... (3)......Then When The Problem Is Under Control, Start Barefooting.... Problem Solved...:2thumbsup: Cheers Glen.
I have gout too in my knees and in my ankles. It doesn't take much to set it off, but it's a lot worse with shoes on as I'm more likely to stumble. Going barefoot allows all the individual muscles and bones in your feet to do their job properly and you'll balance better and put less strain on any one part of your body. You have to get used to it and acclimatise to it though. Give yourself a chance. Start small, keep taking whatever you've been prescribed and eventually you should be so much more comfortable and dextrous when going barefoot that you'll find yourself setting off your gout less often.
