How Did You Pick Your Name on Here and Why That?

There was mist outside when I registered. It must have been morning or I must had just woke up as well. I put a y instead of an i because I felt like it. I really like my name.

 

Because of the song Moon Child by Chris Cornell.

 

there's a song in Rainbow Brite that the sprites sing called Prismatism. i only remember the lyrics, "we work to the rhythm of prismatism, it isn't like working at all. a steady beat to tap your feet, it's inspirational", it's been a while since i heard it... i attatched myself to the name a long time ago. now i like it because of the symbolism. a prism is clear until light passes through it, and together they create a rainbow.

Mine stands for what do you know about me. That's kind of my motto because throughout my freshman year and even now I was/am judged and labeled as a bad kid by my family, other parents, and even my peers simply because I smoked pot and people knew I did. They think I'm so evil because I smoke weed but they don't know me at all. I'm not at all evil I'm peaceful and don't want to cause harm to anyone so it was a good name for me.

 

Because, in spirit, I am a child of the Woodstock generation.

 

My name comes form the fact that in spite of being a tomboy, I'm still a diva, and my birth year, 1987.

My first forum s/n was Sahara Rose, because when I first got here, Sting's song "Desert Rose" was at the top of my playlist.
As for this name: I am interested in Buddhism, and I would like to think I am a peaceful person. Though redundant, I'd like to think that I am a mystical, peaceful person. Emphesis on "like to think".

 

I had lots of things to put as my username and I had no idea which one to choose. Eventually I just picked from the imaginary list at random, and decided upon 'Sattva'.

Sanskrit is a beautiful language used mainly in Buddhism and Hinduism today. Having access to a wonderful online dictionary of Sanskrit words and terms, I looked for a word to describe 'the essence of being', and Sattva was a direct match.

Had I felt differently at the time my name could've been Dhyana (I think this will be familiar to Shambhala Peace), Manawyddan (gotta love Welsh roots), Madhyama, Chandra or Satya.

 

Morcheeba is a band I like. Plus it's just a very cool name

I had a cat that died a bit before I got my account on here and I really loved that cat, so..I just liked it I guess. I don't really know.

 

I picked mine from the character Duncan McLeod of the Clan McLeod. I was a rabid Highlander fan when Adrian Paul had the role. Boy he was yumilicious !
