A friend told me about it in October of '02. So I checked it out. She's long gone, but I've stuck around because I have nothing better to do.

During one of my cranberry juice phases in December, I typed in "I love cranberry juice" into google (sad, I know). It led me to the beverage section of these forums and I decided to stay.

well i stumbled accross a site about woodstock alumni and from there to a site that had among other things a big linkfarm about all kinds of alternative everything. zenbazaar or something like that it was called. it's not arround in that form anymore unless it's been resurected or something, but anyway from there is where i found this place. i'm really interested in strainge organic looking alternative architecture and things like that and for that reason i had that place set as my browzer's default page for as long as it lasted. but the people who were doing it couldn't really afford to keep it up and didn't get the help they needed to do so. well i could tell more story then that. you see when i first got a net connection, web page space used to come with it, and so i had my own and had that set as my browsers home. but then my isp was sold and bought and sold and bought again and about the third owner or so decided they weren't going to continue that and along about that time most of the others weren't either and they put up these crummy pages that were all advertizing crap that they expected everybody to keep their browsers set at so i went looking for someplace to set it at that was at least a little less obnoxious, so that's where zenzibar came in. after they ceased being something more then just a passive home page that still had some pretty pictures of what the people who had it were doing, well then in time i found the fletcher's kind of online furry appa about this immaginary pacific island chain called spontoon which is still my browser's home page now. i did a couple of things they accepted and put up. i don't have a real good way of doing monochromatic cartoon type stuff so it's been a while since of contributed any more but it's a cool place anyway. oh and then someone i think in elftown told me about nation states and someone on there mentioned freewebs so now i've got a page of my own again though i really haven't done much with it beyond restoring some of what my old page had been to it, with a few minor updates and modifications to mesh with the nation states thing.

well that's more history of more then you asked but somewhere in there i mentioned how i found my way here.

You're hard to miss, seeing as you're the most flamboyant man since Liberace.

A month and a half ago.

I was researching a book I'm doing and I came across this. This was a godsend. The first time I tried signing up there was confusion, but inevitably I was able to start posting.

    This is a great place.

I Was looking for a bunch of mindless drones to add to my army of darkness so i can finish my conquest of taking over New jersey
so i thought, who else are the easiest to manipulate than hippies? and here i found this place.
But alas my search was in vain, i discoverd that not only can a hippie not comprehend a single simple task, but can neither keep themselves in a stable position.
I need to find people who are as gullable as hippies but also smarter than them for them to become a part of my army

Shortly after I realized I was interested in the hippy movement, I typed "hippy" in yahoo.com, and I found hippy.com. After exploring hippy.com for awhile, I found the hipforums, and well...I practically live here.
