    I didnt even know you could cook something in a bag, it also sounds disgusting... I either steam, fry, roast, or grill depending on the dish and the type of veggie.

    I have an electric steamer/rice cooker. We use it for almost every meal. Steamed veggies are much healthier than boiled :)

    That's what I use, too. But be careful ... those things will slice your fingers right off.

    I've always used bamboo steam pots you find for like €0.30 at a Chinese grocer.

    I clicked on this because I didn't know what a steam fresh bag is! I just cook them in a saucepan with some water. I've never done it any other way! This is interesting

    I wouldn't cook anything in plastic. It is not a good idea to heat food up in plastic containers in the microwave either. I actually don't use microwaves, as I consider them not conducive to my good health.

    I enjoy cooking vegies by;
    Roasting them in hot ashes (potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn on cob etc)
    Stir fry in a wok or frying pan
    Steam in a chinese steamer basket, or a metal steamer basket
    Roast in the oven
    Frying pan (veggie patties/burgers)

    I don't trust the steamer bags OR the veggies they put in them. I agree that frozen veggies taste funny. I used to just microwave in a bowl with water, covered with a paper plate. But I've been slacking on inhaling some vegetables. We do have a giant pot with a steamer insert though, but it's so big it's not really practical using the thing just to steam a few servings.

    I've always wondered how to go about using those bamboo steamers! I wonder... would it work just setting one on top of a pot and boiling water under it? Seems like it would be a fire hazard... good thing we have an electric stove :D

    Never have cooked veggies in a plastic bag and don't intend on doing so. Steamer baskets ftw or eat them raw and get all the vitamins minerals and enzymes.

    I buy the huge box of restaurant foil sheets from the wholesale mega-warehouse. Place veggies on a sheet, sprinkle with seasoning and maybe some olive oil. Then twist it together like a big lumpy joint. Toss it on the fire or in the oven for a while, 20 minutes maybe. Recycle the foil.
