I think that's actually what they said in my 4th grade D.A.R.E. seminar. Very effective...

This shows how immature you think then. If it wasnt for my mom's propper parental upbringing, I would still be drinking out of a bendy straw and expecting my pancakes already cut up. You want a best friend? Then go out and make one. Parents are there to bring you up right and teach you how to take care of yourself, not smoke pot with you all day god damnit

You tell me things I already know. If I didn't follow rules I wouldn't be employed, would most likely be kicked out of school, and as a result would be out on my own.

I'm glad you feel the urge to talk "down" to me because you're twenty-three years old and have experienced everything life as to "throw" at you.

I wouldn't do so well if my parents didn't use "proper parental techniques." I pay for my own food, bills, car, and any recreational activities that I would like to pursue.

I'm not talking down to you. I don't know why you're being so defensive. I just think you've got certain things stuck in your mind because you're a know-it-all teenager. Calm down...I was a know it all teenager once too...then I realized I didn't know a DAMN thing. And I still don't know a damn thing about A LOT of stuff. I just know what I've lived and I'm free to express that in these forums. Isn't life grand?

Yes. The illusion of authority is quite an amazing thing, isn't it?

If what your saying is a parent shouldnt be teaching you good qualities and should be instead, being their kid's "best friend" (which in this case you would want them to just smoke weed with you) then I must say that you can officially just fuck off

LOL no...it's a fact. So let's tell all of our kids to do drugs, drink alcohol, and do all these destructive things...yes, that's a good way for a kid to grow up...having their parents tell them to do illegal stuff, so they have the potential to get arrested. Hell...why don't you tell your kids not to go to school? What's the difference?

no it is an opinion you are looking at the extreme negative doing illegal things and getting caught...now i knew many people when i was yonger whos parents let eveyrone drink and hang out there when we were all under twenty one...in fact this is a common practice...people do this because they want their children safe and not arrested...as opposed to a double variable they are limiting the experince to a single variable...normally kids try new things in unsafe ways in unsafe places...so parents can monitor kids and keep them safe now....doesnt seem so irrisponsible to me...just seems like the parents are understanding and thinking of it in another way...so yes what you stated was an opinion...hell why dont we raise our kids to be close-minded...egotisitcal..and haughty instead....oh wait maybe some parents already did...

God i hope my kids dont end up like "DancerAnnie". Why are people siding with her here? it seems like she just started attacking that dude for no reason, and i think he was handling it very well, and then shes like "why are you getting all defensive" i seriously think she is insulting sharkall only because she doesnt like Nickleback?

I mean cmon this is a marijuana forum and her first statements to sharkall were to the effect of "you are stupid for wanting to smoke alittle pot at a concert to enjoy the music more" wtf. DancerAnnie i dont know why but the way you talk (type) really hits a nerve with me.

moral relativism. what one person may hold to be absolutely moral may be considered immoral by another, and vice versa. there is no universal moral truth, there are many ways to raise a child, and none of them are absolutely right, just as none of them are absolutely wrong.

She wasnt saying he was stupid for wanting pot for a concert to enjoy the music more, she was saying its stupid to want to be that desperate for weed. And it IS. You dont NEED weed for every event that takes place in your life, just enjoy the music for what it is if you cant find pot.
