maybe it's not the periods that make us bitchy... maybe it's the guys we have to deal with that make us bitchy.
    thank you

Well, I suppose there's at least one advantage to having a male body... It doesn't outweigh what I wish I could have, though. :(

Hmm, let's see. You try lying in agony in a dark room, feeling like someone is stabbing you in your stomach, with your shoulders, spine, thighs, knees, and ankles feeling like they're being crushed, going from freezing to boiling hot, having intense headaches, painful bowel movements, and wearing a diaper-like get-up, taking every kind of medicine you can find and not getting any relief, not being able to do anything but cry, moan, and scream in intense pain for 1-3 days, and having the whole world laugh at the matter like it's some kind of joke that you're in beyond extreme physical pain.

"Some women might be bitchy (to varying degrees) for many reasons during their period... one of which is others assuming her behavior is based soley on her menstrual cycle."--LawnGirl. Well said. Also, it'd be nice if people would stop with the PMS jokes. Getting told "Geez, SOMEONE'S PMS-ing!" is not cute, funny, or cool like you think it is. It's offensive and generally makes people even more heated than they were to begin with. It was maybe vaguely funny ONCE in sixth grade. Get over it. It's the body getting rid of what could have been made into a human being, and all everyone does is laugh at it.

It's hormones. They make us more sensitive to tactless dorks. I guess that's why you feel the wrath.

I am so sorry to hear that. Mine are like that, too. I used to spend several hours on the floor in excruciating pain, just vomiting and hoping I would die. I got on birth control pills and that has helped quite a bit. It's still no picnic, though.

Let's put it this way...if a person is in that much pain and they're cheerful...they've lost their mind. Be afraid.

    Ha Ha

I used to tell my ex that he acted like he had PMS all the time and that he would be forever waiting for his period, and sanity, to come. I, on the other hand, could expect some relief. Same joke, basically.

I dunno...I don't get grumpy when I'm on my period. Actually, I'm usually happy for some fucked up reason...lol. I think a lot of reason why women get bitchy is 'cause they feel it's their god-given right to bitch at anyone just 'cause they're menstruating. It's so annoying to hear chicks use their period as an excuse. Then, again, some chicks do have really bad periods so I can definitely understand why they'd be bitchy. I've heard stories of chicks having to be sent to hospitals 'cause the cramps are so bad and shit. So even though I don't get bitchy, I can understand why some would.

PMS=suffering from PMS. Uh, yeah, I can see how that would be hard to figure out in a thread about PMS and periods and hormones. Do you have some other questions you'd like me to answer about women before you meet one?:p

Hahahaaaaa...some of us don't have boobs,man...But unfortunately I do! Well the bitchiness depends on how prone to bitching a lady is...if she is usually a bitchy person, chances are she'll take a chainsaw to your head when auntie flow is visiting. But...the laid back ones, like me and my mother aren't any different during periods,no matter how bad they suck...

my mother was hormonally devastated by her period every month. some freaky shit going on. and then menopause...holy shit! she lost her fucking mind. now she's all stabilized, still a bit of a sassy bitch, but not homicidal.

You know, men also experience a cycle of emotional ups and downs each month.

yep, but it's not as severe, though a couple living together start cycling together. unfortunately a lotta men don't know this, so they blame ALL the friction and bitchiness on the woman.
