I thought you mountain people were supposed to be able to drive like a pro on any kind of surface. ;)

    5 Celsius.
Which means it's finally time for special, protective cream for sensitive skin.

Yeah, I neglected to swap my studded tires this summer and wore the studs down to nothing.

I did what any pro would do in these conditions...abort the mission, lol

I have a new set lined up, getting them mounted is another thing. I'm sure all the tire shops are completely swamped right about now.

I've been running my summer tires for the last two winters... Probably have to do it again.

Grace just got to the park. It is up to 45F now and the roads are just wet. Lots of melting going on. If we are lucky it will not all freeze overnight.

serious wind this am. i don't have an animomiter either, but it must be like 60 or 70. i mean lift stuff off the ground serious. no we don't get twisters here or anything like that. but we do on rare occasion get really seriously high winds. the kind you really wouldn't want to be driving a big rig or a motor home in, or even at all.

I used to live in the mountains. The locals used to call us flatlands transplants worthless pussies, claiming that their 4WD monster trucks could climb over our fuel efficient cars in a blizzard and crush them. I guess it was a matter of priorities. I could walk to class and work, and I did.

Ha ha! It's turned cold so quickly here. It was freezing at the lake yesterday, very bitter wind and cold temps. I was glad I had my hood attached to my jacket, it saved the day. My leather gloves didn't cut it though, I'll have to get some warmer ones. And I really have to invest in a pair of snow pants. I used to live in a colder snowier region but Montreal has that damp cold that goes right through you.

The wall of the lake was frozen over with thick sheets of ice and the shrubs at the shoreline were covered with ice.

54 degrees F. Warmest evening in weeks. I've about driven the cats insane bringing the dog in so much, but it's been way too cold for little dogs

Ha! I put one of those guys in the ditch with my "pussy" little fuel efficient car last year when my studs were new. I was putting along 25-30 mph on this icy county road, he was practically riding my bumper when I noticed him. knowing very well the dynamics of my little Metro on ice, I waited till just before this long sweeping corner I knew had been in the shade all day and was just fucking glazed.. I dropped a gear and sped up to about 40 and when I looked in my rearview to see if he was keeping up, I was morbidly delighted to see him doing a 360 into the ditch. Serves the dip-shit right.. I laughed like Jim fucking Carrey

Today is pretty warm compared to the last few days, 13c with clouds, low winds and high humidity. It won't last tho, after tomorrow we'll be back to temperatures around freezing point.
