You know the rest of the country hates you guys, right? ;)

It just got above zero here and should go up over night. Supposed to be a high of 29 tomorrow. That sounds great!

I'm sure. But it's not all glamorous, it's hot as fuck here from may to oct. I like it but a lot of people don't.

I'm just going by my thermometer on the deck but I'm a little ways north of you....up near a certain campus town that I'm sure you know of. :)

I've never been there but I've heard some of those months are almost unbearable. Six of one, half a dozen of the other, I guess.

Yeah, I know where you are. Up where the interstate is pure shit in the snow. My sister lives a little further north but works in your town. The temp went up. When I looked about an hour ago it was -4 actual temp. Watch out. There is a tropical heat wave coming.

The way I look at it, sweating is purifying. Clears your body of toxins and you flush yourself out with water.

But the winter is purifying to me also. I miss it a lot, just not enough to move back to a cold climate anytime soon.

It got into the lower 30s the last couple of nights. In fact the house was so cold it was actually warmer inside the refrigerator.

    :)

I was up northwest at work on Monday...in the wind chill warning area. It was brutal. I was talking to a kid today who had his first asthma attack in 8 years on Monday just walking from his car to class because the cold took his breath away. That was just a 15 or 30 second walk. It made me realize how conditioned you have to be to stay out in this shit for 8 or 9 hours with no heat. That kid would be crucified out there with us.

To me, sweating in the summer clears your body. Freezing in the winter clears your mind. That's just me though.

Not too bad right now at 22 f but the arctic air will be slowly draining in overnight; and we’re expecting our first decent snowstorm Saturday night into Sunday :2thumbsup:

Yeah that's what I was trying to say, good way to put it. I always felt this sense of rejuvenation and creative energy in the cold winters.

There is no way in hell I could do what you do. I hate the cold weather. When the its so cold that the wind takes your breath away. Hell no. It takes special people to work outside in that shit.

Forget about your breath. It's so cold that ice forms inside your nose and on beards. The wind makes your eyes water and the tears freeze on your cheeks. I've had days where I wondered if my eyeball fluid would freeze. I hate it but kind of love it sometimes too. I love that nobody else wants to be there and we survive it every day. There is a certain mental boundary that you have to cross to be out there all day with no heat.

There is nothing I hate more than ice forming in my beard. haha. I still think you're crazy :D None of that sounds like fun but I'm glad you do it and don't hate it. I need to find somewhere that it stays between 55-75 all year round. I'm too Irish for extreme heat or cold.
