How can I tell if a crack rock is real?

Found something in my car, looks like crack rocks, but I'm not sure.

Tasted it, but it didn't numb by tongue or taste bitter. Does only coke do that or does crack do it as well? How do I see if it's real? I don't have a crack pipe.
